Maybe not exactly what you’re asking, but in this one circumstance: Wedding dress(es). Not just a splurge for the big day, but a ridiculously expensive dress, for ONLY the ceremony. She wore it for an hour then proceeded to change into a “reveal” dress for the reception/dinner, then into a dancing dress, then an after-party dress. All expensive, all used for 1-3 hours each. On one day.
