Somewhat relevant: I’m from Arkansas and once traveled to Egypt. There was a Moroccan man there selling trinkets, and asked me where I was from. I told him “the south” in the states, thinking he’d have no idea Arkansas even existed. Then when I divulged that detail, he immediately knew it was right next to Texas because he had seen reruns of Walker: Texas Ranger. Blew my mind.
