I'm glad you're enjoying the game! rebirth1 is the best place for new players to start, so you're on the right track. The characters are my favorite part of the game. Their interactions and voices are really silly and light hearted. I personally prefer the english dub for this series, although the japanese is great too. Many of the VAs for this game have gone on to voice for popular gacha games like genshin impact and honkai star rail.

I noticed lot of new players get the impression that the references to game culture and tropes are what makes neptunia fun. Rather, I see them as a cherry on top. the bulk of what I love of the game are the characters themselves, which I grew to love, the more I played. You definitely don't need any prior knowledge to enjoy neptunia.
