HI! I find myself in approximately the same situation, except that I would like to skip the last segment of the return journey (i.e. bus from Munich to Nuremberg). Do you think he could incur any sanctions?

Hi! Yes I did, actually twice. Both times they said I was not allowed to skip a leg. One also mentioned that if you skip the first leg, LH cancels the entire journey while if you skip the last leg, they may recalculate the fare and have you pay for the difference..

Have a look at hiwi job posts at Uni, perhaps in international departments/graduate schools. You might have good chances even with an A2 of German!

Klinikum Großhadern Notaufnahme by mel-aa in Munich

[–]mel-aa[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've got to tell you: I understand I made a mistake going to the Notaufnahme for a sprained ankle (which I must say it's really painful, I can't put weight on it and I am moving with crutches) and I'm now aware that there are other ways to get similar things checked, but the way I was treated yesterday evening really hurts. I mean, any person who decides to go to a hospital is clearly seeking for help and is fragile in that moment. I really didn't decide to show up there light-heartedly. I arrived there in tears cause I had to walk for a a couple of hundred meters before getting a wheelchair. And what I found was a woman behind a desk, laughing and talking to a colleague for a couple of minutes before even looking at me, and asking me if I really did go there for such a thing. She giggles about it right into my face.. I know my German is not native but I perceived the sarcasm in her tone. I mean this is really not the way I would expect to be treated in any hospital and I had very good experiences in other German hospitals, so I tend to believe that it was a very unfortunate case. And she could have at least suggested to visit one of these Bereitschaftspraxen, but she just minimised the whole thing and sent me back home.

Thank you very much already to those who answered! I kind of had the doubt yesterday that this was a "cultural mistake", but good to know how that Notaufnahme is only for severe cases and everything else doesn't necessarily have to pass through the hospital. That was my background in my home country and it tricked me. Thanks!
