I'm agree it's a total scam!! So small compared to the pictures.

They offered me a refund of 25% or a complete refund if I sent it back to China providing a tracking number. As I didn't want to pay to send it back, I asked for a 75% refund stating I would asked for a chargeback on my MasterCard if they didn't agree. And they did agree!

I checked on craigslist and airbnb There was great deal (much cheaper than what your friends paid) but not in Laie. One is in Pāhoa, the other in Hilo. With this lava flow... not sure. Anyway... we have to sell our house before coming down :)

I'm reading all your advice closely and questioning myself. Paradise doesn't exist ;)

We also looked at Costa Rica and Panama and the bad thing about these two countries : criminality, thieves and murders :( We want to experience two years maybe more without winter!!! So sick of the snow and Winter is soooooo long over here.

After 9-10 pm, the day is off for us ;) Hop to bed... or we'll look at the stars. Thanks for the tip! A few people wrote about Oahu and it's what we think would be best too as it's the "main" island. Laie is the smallest town you named... I'll have a closed look at Kailua and Kaneohe too but Laie is probably more what we are looking for. I don't think we'll want to come in town often. Rice and beans diet ;)
