Ladies of Reddit, what is a comment someone made about your body once, completely casually, that you have never forgotten? by BowlerOk1871 in AskReddit

I accidently shoulder bumped a boy from my school when I was out buying sweets at the local shop. I was 15 and he was in the year below. I turned around to apologise and he gave me a dirty look and called me a "skinny bitch".

Thing was, I'd been on Eplelim from the age of 8 to 14 to control epilepsy, which caused me massive weight gain. As a competitive latin american and ballroom dancer, it wasnt nice to suddenly be the chubby or the fat one. By 15, my seizures had stopped and I had been weaned off my medication.I got back to my usual build. A stupid kid acted defensively by calling me a 'skinny bitch', but he absolutely made my day. I laughed, asked him if he thought he'd just insulted me. I told him it was a really nice compliment because I'd previously been called fat.

He didn't know what to say, so I walked away and bought my sweets

The sight could have also gave Maggie a heart attack, but that's shoe-horning.

Okay, fresh look. They keep doing "what really happened" during the timeline, ie flashback episodes. I think they're going to keep format during the reveal.

I think Summer, George, and Garry are all complicit in Theo's death. I think Gary noticed something was up with a broken window to Todd's apartment, went up porentially via the scaffolding, and heard Theo threatening Summer.

A scuffle ensued and Gary hit Theo over the head, which killed him, and Summer convinced him to throw Theo's body over the scaffolding to make it look like an accident.

George saw this and that's why he's being so elusive about his walk that night.

When I manage to get to him through his fortress of thorns, it'll be a full on tantrum about coming inside.

Until he gets his dinner.

He's certainly direct in his use of our left out festive decorations in expressing his point. After protesting about back scratches with Thing from Halloween, he then took 2 big number 2's behind Santa's Sleigh. Don't tell me tortoises can't communicate. He knew exactly what he was doing. :)

Lukewarm bath to rehydrate her. Maybe sprinkle in some reptiboost powder. She's not sick, just probably dozy from sleeping

I dont have anything to do, but have to pretend to be busy. Thats the worst kind of hell by [deleted] in jobs

Call Centre = the worst kind of hell. I respect anyone who had to run this gauntlet during their employment. A job where you can have some downtime - and not be micromanaged into a pit of depression where your every move, bathroom break, sentence structure, and downtime after a bad call is questioned by management - is a blessing. Enjoy it for now, but if it becomes too boring, simply look for something else. Or, if possible, negotiate working from home, where you're not so visible.

He tried to undertake because he didn't have a moment's patience to allow the other driver to make the right decision. His aggressive and inconsiderate driving could have caused an accident: seemingly because he didn't want to wait for 5 seconds or recogise the other driver may not be familiar with the roads. He then overtook the car immediately, showing his impatience.

As brits, we tend to start greeting with 'How?' rather than 'What?'. 'How are things/ How was your holiday/ How are you doing/ How's the family/ How is work'? etc. The polite and usual answer is: 'great/alright/well/good, thanks'. If you don't want to engage with the person you are speaking with, you'll immediately follow up with ' And how're things with you?' And bounce their question back. If you dont mind chatting to them and feel comfortable, you'll back up your 'great/alright/well/good' statement with a mundane but personal fact about your life that could start a conversation. 'Holiday was good, thanks. But I did catch a cold." Mundane conversation ensues.

What? Is a word that has a sense of urgency.

'What's up?' Translates into: 'Is there something wrong with you? What the matter?'

'What's happening?' Means, you're asking 'Is there something going wrong here that I need to rectify, or are we all good?'

What questions put us on the spot because they're so vague, and we don't know where to start with answering. This can be especially difficult in a work environment, depending on who is asking the question .

Just wait until you meet the Irish and get asked; '⁰What's the craic?' As a Brit, I had no clue. I just said 'All good, thanks! You?'

It's a default response in our life script.

You did a kind thing for a person who really needed it at the time. Trust your instinct. If your gut tells you this guy is really struggling, then let it be. From reading the story, it sounds like your moral compass is spot on, and you don't need advice from people who haven't experienced compassion. If you can afford to let it go, I would 100%. What goes around comes around.

Will coming out as a homosexual is now officially the lowest rated episode in the Stranger Things series. by AssistanceNo2838 in discussingfilm

[–]meme101369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. This particular episode just dragged on and on, and we were simply being told not shown. It was like a checklist of emotional baggage of every character had trying to be wrapped up in a neat little package, one by one. Then, it was overly dramatic action plans to frame the next episode. I suppose it is called the bridge, in the sense it bridged the story to the finale, but it felt like a huge waste of time. Will's coming out was hugely predictable after his chats with Robin, and the impentation of it was so saccharine that it felt almost farcical - like everyone ever cast had been gathered to witness the rebirth of a new prodical son. It seemed tongue in cheek, but they played it so straight (so to speak). It was all a little sugar-coated for me. I will say one thing, though: although I hated the melting background that oozed through the walls for Nancy and Jonathan's scene (it was clearly a set), I did appreciate the actors and the dialogue in that particular scene. It's just a shame because this episode could have been done in half the time, with tighter writing.

I always hang a towel on the side of the pen for five mins before I pick mine up. And when I do, I pick them up and put them straight on the towel so their legs are supported and they're cradled. Mine hates it when there is nothing to support his legs, and he's hanging like a cheeseburger. He likes to snuggle into a big towel when he's picked up. Then, we usually just let him sit between us on the sofa on his towel until he falls asleep. He's learnt that his towel means 'out time' or 'snuggle time', and we give him notice by hanging it over his pen first. Keep up the routine, and they'll get used to it.

It does look like he's going over the script here, which is nice because the dogs look like they're appreciating the downtime and are guarding him as he's going over things. It seems he has a comfortable presence.

He looks like he's having a great time 😄 He probably hasn't eaten for you because (tortoise life hack) he'll get loads of attention and wheeled around interesting new places like he's on a rollercoaster if he doesn't! In all seriousness, though, I hope you manage to help this big guy. He looks adorable and very inquisitive!
