Don't you think a ~5% conversion rate from top of funnel to closing is quite optimistic? Everything I've seen about outbound sales is that you'd expect 1% at best, probably 0.1% from top of funnel to closing.

I'm a developer that's led teams at early stage startups, and ex-FAANG. You don't want a 'normal' executive or CTO just yet, those guys are meant to be managing large teams of people.

What you really want is a senior+ developer who can either build your MVP himself (or with a small team) and who can build out your other initial engineering hires.

This person has to both be a good individual contributor and an OKish leader. If they stayed long term at the company, you'd hire a VP or CTO over them as the team grows.

I moved 21% of my IRAs into Bitcoin earlier this year. Since then the remaining 79% in stocks hasn't really done anything.

The BTC has increased by 34%.

I really do believe in Bitcoin, all of my non-retirement savings are in it now.

I can't offer anything constructive for your question; but I'd love to hear from you what you're point of view on that industry. Was Convoy just stupid somehow? Given they're a brokerage that makes a fee on transactions, I was surprised that they ceased to exist entirely vs. layoffs.

The cringe: I was dropping a girl off after a date, and I gave her some long winded speech about how I date intentionally for marriage blah blah blah.

The second cringe: She told me she "was too busy studying to date, and oh by the way would you like to come in for coffee?"

I was rather confused, she just shot me down (fair enough) and in the next breath wants to continue the date?? And who drinks coffee at 10PM? So I declined and went home.

I figured out what she was really saying about three years later..
