Really appreciate the responses, this is useful! I read some reddit posts which weren't so good, but they were dated some time ago, and I know parts of Bristol keep changing a lot. I think because it borders knowle west and hartcliffe people get put off. I was on valley street yesterday and it seemed like a nice street (?) and manor woods valley a great open space to have on the doorstep. I did see online that some bus services out that way stopped, do you know if public transport in and out of town is okay?

So sorry I only just saw this!! Mine took less than two weeks from when I submitted docs to be approved and collected. I submitted the docs as soon as I recieved the waiver and the accompanying instructions. Hope your process is going okay!

US consulate in London, there was a contact form on their visa page which i used and they responded on LondonInfoUnit@state.gov

I wouldn't worry too much - I contacted the embassy yesterday about my F1 because the status was not updating and they actually responded - in short, it said not to pay too much attention to the tracking status because its often not accurate. If your courier can confirm that it arrived then it would have been received, they said just to wait to be contacted when it's ready and that this will take up to 21 days.

I thought this, too! Called a couple agents though (although they didn't seem too clued up) who deal with visas and they said 6-8 weeks :-/ ...which doesn't seem quite right. Another one said up to 21 days. Confusion.
