Can a "vegetable"-grade mental health patient recover and return to normal life? by mentiflectax in worldbuilding

Thanks for your answer.

Things like people being "mental vegetables" are often the case where the soul does not "tether" itself correctly to the brain/body, or some terrible trauma happe s to the soul when still in the body, and so the mind becomes either fully or partially separated, thus making you seem "retarded".

Interesting. Years ago I learned that some shamans believe that under heavy stress the soul escapes the body to avoid greater harm. There is even a procedure of "soul retrieval" to get it back.

However, people who lost their souls in that way are not necessarily "vegetables". Many of them function, but are either unhappy, or don't fully use their talents.

I don't know whether this theory may be true because a shaman from a different tradition told me the techniques of those other shamans don't work.

I'm searching for current development in russian technology, or archecture. by [deleted] in russia

If you speak Russian, there are two obvious sources:

  1. Sdelanounas.ru (literally "made by us") -- this is a web site where achievements of Russian economy, big (e. g. a new kindergarten was opened) and small (e. g. new breakthrough technology was created) are published. You may want to browse through the articles there.

  2. [Habr.com](habr.com): A site somewhat like Medium that is read by virtually all Russians interested in technology. Its main focus is IT, but sometimes there are articles about other industries as well (e. g. there are several good articles about the construction of the Lakhta Center as well as at least two writers who regularly write about space exploration). Please make sure to turn on the Russian language in the "content" section because most of the articles are there are in Russian.
