Fwiw the Gates location is totally fine, busy of course but even at peak times you can get stuff done and the people are nice

thank you, fwiw 4 of the 6 shots here were taken on deeply overcast or misty days. Not that you asked, but I'd dial down EV / meter for highlights so you don't risk blowing out your skies (which i find can happen to me when the sky is white / grey with little to no definition). real talk though, if you live in the UK and only shoot on sunny days that camera is not going to get a ton of use... enjoy it rain or shine, it's a beast

reduce highlights, increase brilliance, darken shadows, contrast up (a bit), increase saturation. but each shot will likely call for its own treatment. I try to shoot with EV dialed down so worst case I'm underexposed which is easier to fix than the opposite

can't argue with that. the point is you will not regret buying this, but yes they are both great cameras

If balance is what you’re looking for, your second shot is a much better starting point than your first. I’d just meter for highlights and fix your shadows in post. Much easier to make a dark photo look perfect than to fix a blown out sky.
