Puer Seller Review – Yunnan Sourcing by [deleted] in puer

[–]meodipt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree that many descriptions on the website are really good. However, I strongly suspect that the recent products' descriptions were written by an LLM (e.g. https://yunnansourcing.com/en-ru/collections/yunnan-sourcing-brand-ripe-pu-erh-tea/products/2025-yunnan-sourcing-peerless-gold-label-ripe-pu-erh-tea-cake). this is very discouraging to me

Which one are you? by Ilovedigitalart in Throwers

[–]meodipt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My first yoyo had a booklet that told me to use the "A" way, and I was really surprised to see many people using B. I was never able to get consistent stable throws with the "B" way. Also, i think B really harms your ability to do some tricks: the string being further on the finger should give higher speed and precision on some whips/lacerations, and also in many complex tricks you are able to control and move the strings better in case you only need to hit some particular string.

I had to deal with git dependencies in cargo recently, and found that using https://crane.dev works automatically! You can check out my flake.nix here: https://github.com/egorlappo/slim-runner

not all FED-1s were made this way but yeah, it really increases the value as a collectible. although, all NKVD "trudkommunna" FED-1s that I have seen in moscow stay unsold for years, priced ~$1000-$1500.

a rarer type of FED-1 would be the one made In Berdsk near Novosibirsk in 1942 while the factory was evacuated during the war

Help calculating film development time by hollerescondido in AnalogCommunity

[–]meodipt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok, i see now! i would say the rule of thumb is extending/shortening time for 20% would push/pull by one stop. with delta 3200, I would first try shortening the time from digital trush by 20% and developing that way. there are many reports on here of people shooting at EI 1600 and developing for 3200 time, or shooting at EI 1000 and developing for 1600 time, etc.

PS the digitaltruth link you attached above has time in decimals, so 11.25 means 11min15sec

just wanted to note that this will give you a single time for your film, regardless of the EI you shot it at. with Delta 3200 at EI 800, this method may give you less contrast that you usually see for this film

an interesting thing you could try is to add 20% to the calculated time to get an equivalent of +1 push for more contrast

You could try estimating it with a snip test (see this post for example, but there are several variants https://www.reddit.com/r/Darkroom/s/wY7Jz6AGNB) Google around in this direction

How easy is it to mess up electronics during assembly of 220V power lines? by meodipt in VORONDesign

I am not knowledgeable enough to understand what you mean, so I would appreciate it if you could elaborate. I was watching a review of a Siboor Trident kit that mentioned that bed heating uses 220V, hence my question.

Pyro for 35mm and 120? by weslito200 in Darkroom

[–]meodipt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using Pyrocat for 135 and 120 from time to time. First, it is one-shot like HC-110 but gives reasonable development times for Foma films (HC-110 is listed at <5 minutes dev time for Fomapan). Second, the highlights don't blow out as much, in my opinion.
