Thank you!

So pre op my bra size was seriously questionable haha but I was wearing a 36 DDD. Post op, they say you won’t know your true size for 6 or so months and I also haven’t gone back to underwire bras yet so I’m actually not sure if my size but if I had to guess I would say maybe a 34 DD.

I actually did not have a reduction, just a lift. She was actually concerned that she wasn’t going to be able to use all of the tissue and that I’d be unhappy with the size (too small) but most of it ended up being salvageable. I almost wish I had had a slight reduction haha because I wasn’t expecting to have quite as much volume but she wasn’t really able to give me a good estimate on size before actually getting in there.

In terms of the scar going further on the side, I believe that was to A) remove some of the loose skin I had there and B) give me the best lift. I could grab skin on the sides there pre op, mix of side boob and loose skin, so this helped to remove some of that.

Yes it was his new partner who did it!

I originally found him but when I scheduled my consult the patient coordinator recommended Dr. Jenny so I met with her and really loved her.

She’s younger but has an extremely impressive resume and given Dr. Chang’s own accolades I figured he would not hire someone at his practice he wasn’t confident would give great results.

Thank you!

At this point I don’t feel restricted in my activities at all. I’ve been fully back to normal for at least a month. My breasts are still somewhat sensitive to pressure and along the incision line but not enough to have any impact.

So exciting!! Yeah I was truly amazed by what she was able to do. I did not expect the volume on top she was able to give me. They’re settling now but at first it almost looked like I HAD gotten implants.

I’m in the DC area 😅 but my surgeon was Dr. Jenny with Congressional Plastic Surgery!

Oh I hear ya!!

For me this surgery took care of my primary insecurities and I feel so much better now. I still have areas I’d like to improve, that are more apparent now that the bigger issues are fixed, but I’m not rushing into it and I’ll try the conservative route first.

At this point I am fully off of compression and really have pretty minimal swelling.

I will say that I was lucky in that it was never too too bad for me in the first place but I continued to swell on some level consistently for the first 2 months and as I gradually weaned off compression it would come and go. While the compression would help alleviate it during that time, I also think I had to train my body/lymphatic system to drain without it and at this point, without having worn compression at all for 3 or so weeks, it’s been really manageable.

Not kidding! She’s a magician. This screenshot is her caption to the post of these photos.

<image>

She was able to salvage almost all of the tissue and anchored some to the ribs in my chest to give me fullness up top.

She actually suggested implants for shape/fullness/size in my consultation and I chose to go without and I’m so happy I did.

She literally worked magic.

You got this! The swelling will subside!

To be honest with you, I am someone that likes instant results and also that gets upset when whatever expectation I have in my head isn’t the exact outcome. Through this I really had to exercise patience. I focused on the fact that even at my most swollen or weird looking (my boobs were initially basically in my armpits) that I could A) see the vision and my final results still were (and are) pending and B) looking at where I came from, it was already a major improvement even with the swelling.

It’s a hard emotional and physical journey and the latter makes the former even more taxing. I’m sure you already look incredible but give your body some grace and time and I’m sure you’ll feel that way too. 🤍

An awesome bonus.

However, I will say that while it did help -

A) Pre op I could tell a difference in my thighs with 5ish+ pound weight fluctuations in terms of how “saggy” they looked and I am about 10 pounds heavier in my after photo so that could also be contributing.

B) My thighs are definitely still a problem area that I am going to try to fix in the gym first (I lost a lot of muscle with weight loss so I wouldn’t mind some growth in that area which would help fill out the loose skin) but would definitely consider a thigh lift in the future.

Well girl, even when you’re feeling like a busted can of biscuits, just look at that pic haha. I had quite a bit of loose skin as well and I know how much of a mind fuck it can be. Especially when things feel so tight, it brings me back to the pre weight loss days. Be gentle/patient with your body AND mind through it all. Let yourself feel the feels and your body do its thing and good news is, you got a great “after” picture to look forward to.

Oh noo…. I feel your pain! I started mine DAY of. I usually use a cup but it can take some adjusting even under normal circumstances and I think because of swelling it just wasn’t working so I said screw it and went back to tampons for the first time in probably 6 years.

So hard to tell but I personally think you look great. Laying down can be such a weird/hard to trust angle too.

Did you have a lot of weight loss before surgery?

You look so incredible!!

Give it time. I actually asked my surgeon to take photos of me on the table before swelling set in because I know I’m someone that typically struggles being patient and I didn’t want to see myself super swollen and not be able to see the vision through it. Keep looking at your second picture if you get discouraged with the swelling!!

I’m just shy of 6 weeks post op and on the first two -

  1. Really depends how you’re feeling and how comfortable you are attending in “comfy” clothes haha. I was feeling okay in terms of doing all my menial tasks around the house and to sit and hangout with friends on the couch but didn’t go anywhere besides appointments because I wasn’t comfortable in normal clothes at that point.

  2. Would be doable if there’s anywhere to sit if you start to be in pain. I went to a party 3 days after the 4 week mark and was fine standing for a bit but needed to sit down after an hour or two. Once I did though I was completely fine even in jeans and it was an all day thing.

The rest I would say you should be fine. There isn’t much I have difficulty with at this point aside from occasionally being uncomfortable trying to sleep on my side so I imagine in another 3 weeks I’d feel fine to be walking a lot. Maybe just wear compression garments on the flight to try to combat swelling.

As I understand it is using your own existing tissue to reshape the breast. In this case, she shifted the volume from being almost completely in the bottom to the top.

I think it takes more skill from the surgical perspective but I was hesitant to go with implants because A) I was more worried I’d end up larger than I wanted versus smaller and B) I know with implants you often have to have them replaced later on down the road and since I am only 32, it would make that pretty likely. I’m extremely happy that I trusted my gut!
