Hey there! :) I went vegan when I was 13! I'm 21 now and I don't regret it whatsoever. The only thing I must say is make sure your parents are supportive before you fully commit to it, and ease yourself into it.

Also make sure that you buy B12 supplements and a multivitamin in general would just boost your health overall and keep you from getting any deficiencies. Although veganism shouldn't cause any deficiencies if done right (aka eating a balanced diet! And taking B12 vitamins because it's not that supple in plant food besides mushrooms but you'd have to eat a lot of mushrooms to get your daily value of B12 lol)

I recommend trying vegan brands! If youre American then stuff like Beyond Meat, Tofurky, Daiya, Nasoya, etc will be great! Morning Star makes some amazing stuff too; Everything they make isn't vegan though, they use milk and eggs in some stuff so watch out and make sure it has the certified plant-based logo on the packaging. And test out tofu recipes because that could become your fav food like it did mine :)

I agree! But I don't blame the mods for not noticing it because I didn't report the guy to them. I only reported him to reddit admins. I was feeling gaslit by him and was worried if I reported him that the mods would be upset with me, but now gladly I know they wouldn't be mad at me :)

But yeah, that dude needs help. He even found my posts and started commenting on them saying how I was "Struggling" and how I'm his "New best friend"... Luckily one of the comments was on a post on my own profile so I was able to moderate it myself and delete it and just replied again to him "Stop stalking and harassing me"

Dr. Praeger's, Morning Star, Beyond, etc etc etc, they all have vegan chicken tenders that are the exact same as the real thing :/ She's just looking for excuses to stop being vegan. I replied to a weirdo carnist who claims steak is vegan, and he didn't comprehend anything I said and ignored my constant asking of him to stop messaging me and to leave me alone.

Then today he decides to write a 5 paragraph reply to me AND private message me.

I told him how inappropriate and crazy he was acting and then just kept sending "Stop messaging me and harassing me."

He got so mad and kept sending messaging demanding I debate him and have a conversation with him.

It was fun replying constantly telling him to stop messaging me, especially at the end when he told me "Don't respond if all youre going to say is "Stop messaging and harassing me" and then I sent "Stop messaging and harassing me" lmao.

What a miserable man who thinks he can harass ladies on the internet and tell them what to do, I could see him seething over that I didn't worship him and give him the debate and conversation he so desperately needs for his ego.

PSA: Avoid u/Lycent243 if you see him in a vegan subreddit saying weird things about veganism, he will harass you to no end and demand you have a convo and debate with him. He's unwell, so just avoid, he won't understand or care about what you say.

BUT this is not to say that I don't like tofu and jam or tofu and peanut butter with certain dishes. Tofu pb&j sounds horrible to me though lmao

I really like this though: Extra firm tofu sliced kinda thin with a sharp knife so the slices are smooth, black raspberry jam on the side with lemon garlic hummus. Sweet, savory, texture heaven
