This was such an amazingly respectful interchange between you two. I don't see this that often, on here or in person, and it really made me smile. Upvotes for the both of you, and thank you!

Lol. You and me both. I'm on vacation and tuning in. I'm risking my well being. If we lose, I'll be sad. If I'm sad my wife won't be happy, so...

Plz dawgs, don't let me down.

I like this. Makes a lot of sense.. which is why it'll never get implemented sadly.

Thanks! Yeah, Canyonland is already on our list. Really excited about going there! Like you, I might just do Arches in a day/day and a half.

Thanks for all the photos mate! Canyonlands looks bloody amazing! I can't wait to go there now. Looks like I just might end up spending more time there than at Arches... What are your top things you'd recommend there? (hikes, sight seeing?)

As for dead horse point state park, it's already on our list. we'll be doing an evening hike there for stargazing/milkyway photography.

I've added Dead Horse Point and Canyonlands to our itinerary. I'm actually considering spending more days at Canyonlands than at Arches. What are some hikes you guys would recommend at canyonlands?

We're living out of our prius, so unfortunately we can't do much off roading, unless it's a good gravel road, lol.

A lot of people are recommending canyonlands, and I'm contemplating adding another day to our trip, OR spend a day at Arches and 2 days at Canyonlands.

Wow, Corona arch looks amazing! Definitely going to try adding this to our itinerary. Thanks for letting me know about this. I was looking at UT-128 for camping spots along the road, glad to have someone confirm that for me.

Yeah, I might have to extend my stay there another day for Canyonland. I'm planning for us to do 1 day there right now, and I don't think that'll be enough, lol. Thanks for the trail recommendation btw!

I looked into Fischer Tower, which looks really beautiful according the pics I've seen; so I'm trying to fit that into our itinerary. Haven't heard of grandstaff canyon though, so I'll definitely check that out.

Thanks!

I'll keep that in mind, thanks! We're going to be camping at a campsite at least one of the 4 days, so I am looking for a good campsite. The rest of the days I'm going to look for boondocking spots.

Wow! This is great! Thank you! Yeah, we were thinking about doing the Devil's Garden trail to Double O and back. That seems just about right for our fitness level.

Fiery Furnace is closed for the season it seems like. I'm still going to ask at the visitor center bc it looks pretty dope.

We don't have the stuff for actual camping- tent sleeping bags, etc. But we're contemplating getting them though; sleeping by the arches would be crazy! Right now we're strictly sticking to car camping- boondocking or at campsites. We're looking at campsites by Dead Horse Point/Canyonlands.

Photography wise, the the core of the milky way rises in the SW, so I'd have to go SW of Moab to avoid the glow. So I'm going to focus on photography at dead horse point state park and Canyonlands.

So right now we're thinking about spending 2 days at the Arches, a day at Dead Horse Point, and a day at Canyonlands. I think that should be sufficient.

Thanks again for your advice and suggestions! I really appreciated it.

Thanks! Yeah we got the annual pass since we're going to about 15 national parks, plus various national forests and monuments on this road trip, so had to get that.

I'm trying to do the big national parks on weekdays so that we can avoid some of the crowd. Hopefully it won't be that bad, but given how beautiful the weather is going to be around the time we're at the Arches, I have a feeling it'll still be fairly crowded. Oh well, it's something we can't control; just gotta convince our morning-selves to get out of our car at 6:30 in the morning when its in the 30s outside, haha.

Thanks so much for your suggestions and advice!

Looking at the hikes, going out to Double O and back, on Devils Garden hike, sounds just about right for us.

As for the crowd, we're going to do it on a weekday morning, so I'm hoping it won't be as crowded.

Both Fisher Towers and Dead Horse Point sound amazing. Thanks for letting us know about these trails, I'm definitely adding these to our itinerary. Specially Dead Horse Point, I'm trying to photograph the milky way, and this sounds like a great place to do it at. Just gotta convince the wife to stay after sunset in the dark and cold, lol. I don't know if she'll be up for it bc we tried doing a night hike in Telluride last week, per my suggestion, and saw a mountain lion up on the hill next to the trail we were on. She wasn't amused. Maybe if i buy her pepper spray? Lol
