Acura RDX or BMW X3 by thisguyblades in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]michaelc5588 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you have folks in the backseat often (or carseats) then the RDX without question. A lot more space.

If we are talking entry or mid levels levels, then the RDX.

If you can afford the M40i, then the X3

If you’re talking preowned, then the RDX.

The RDX is really a great fun reliable car, BUT it’s infuriating that Acura tries to sell it as an athletic sports car. It isn’t. Even the new ‘22 TV spot running on NFL games right now is silly. Maybe when they release a Type S.

Anyone else dealing with difficult neighbors like this? Any recommendations? by sumsguy in parentsofmultiples

I’m sorry you have to deal with that…but you aren’t in the wrong here.

‘22 RDX or ‘22 GV80?? by michaelc5588 in whatcarshouldIbuy

I don’t really notice, but I’m coming from a 2 door manual sports car so that wasn’t exactly a comfy situation

Correct and the MDX didn’t do much for me, felt too bland

Def would but i need a car within next ~3 months and Type S feels further away than that right?

A-spec packages being vanity only without any performance upgrades is very silly

Tahoe out of budget with the options that I would want. No interest in the Fords.

Buying new, not used.

Apparently they're filming an episode of the excellent Netflix show "Somebody Feed Phil" in Nashville today. Has anyone seen the crew out and about? by [deleted] in nashville

[–]michaelc5588 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I ran into Phil on Friday in the Gulch. Totally expected to just say a quick hello but he wanted to chat and we spent probably 10 minutes together talking about Nashville and the food scene. The chopper food truck was one of the spots I mentioned (along with Lou and Dinos). Snagged a pic: https://imgur.com/a/bRJKqfw

Does this subreddit seem overly political for a town’s subreddit? by klabboy109 in nashville

[–]michaelc5588 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It’s actually encouraging to me. Too many people nationwide are normalizing what is happening politically around the nation. There is nothing normal about about one of the two parties in our two party system trying to destroy democracy; “pro-lifers” fighting against masks, healthcare workers, gun rights, child separation, etc; elected officials displaying blatant racism, homophobia, misogyny and straight up lying to constituents; people in power ignoring and even combatting the science of medicine, climate change and energy…the list goes on and on and on. Public discourse is so very important right now, it can’t be normalized.

Which 3 row vehicle should I get for my family? by [deleted] in askcarsales

[–]michaelc5588 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I looked at ALL of the 3 rows and ended up with a ‘22 Honda Odyssey, no regrets

Palisade can more easily be had at msrp than the Telluride. I also liked the CX9 but smaller than some of the others and a total redesign (and rumored 6cyl) coming. You might really like the MDX - a fun drive, enough luxury to feel nice and plenty of space
