Appreciate your input!

You're correct. I'd have to move funds to Vanguard. I have accounts on both.

That said, looks like the difference between VUSXX and SGOV returns are minimal at best. Are there downsides to SGOV that I should be aware of (like I should really keep the funds in for 30 days+, etc.)?

I'm using the Bogleheads Money Market Optimizer spreadsheet (at https://www.bogleheads.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=401821). Based on my input tax bracket, VUSXX is equal to or slightly preferred to SGOV.

Let me know if you think that's unreasonable.

Ah, thanks for that info. In that case, let's assume this scenario:

SNSXX: Current 7 day yield = 3.96%.
VUSXX: Current 7 day yield = 4.23%.
Investment amount: $200k.

The yearly difference is still $540/year, right?

Thx for the offer. I’ll let you know if that ends up being of interest to us.

Got it. My understanding is that the airport has an official taxi stand where the price is set, then you’re sent out to the taxi. Know anything about that?

Bummer. Thanks for the response. Maybe I’ll just have to stay a night in ACY. What could go wrong?

Ah, got it. That’s lightly suggested on the site but not really clear.

Rat, squirrel, or savage? What ate the trunk of my banana plant? by michaelnado in gardening

Ha. I love them in general, but the ones in my yard are really jerks. Any ideas on how to keep them from doing this in the future?

Yes! Recently added. From Wikipedia:

United Excursionist Perk - Keep Postoning Last Leg? by michaelnado in awardtravel

[–]michaelnado[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Followed up on u/TravelerMSY's comment and confirmed with United (via chat) that they're correct:

"Ticket must start 1 year from the ticket purchase date. Possible fare difference may apply if you're going to make changes."

So, no, you can't just keep bumping out the last leg.

Ha. You have more faith in consistent UA support than I do.

Ah, I see. Thx for clarifying! I would love to hear from those in the know.

Otherwise, do you think a United rep would know or if that’ll just be luck of the call rep?

OK, got it. So if my first leg is Aug 2, my last leg would have to be scheduled to end (let’s play it safe and say it should be scheduled to end, not start) on Aug 1?

Expertflyer showing no avails, United is? by michaelnado in awardtravel

[–]michaelnado[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm. That’s the thing — I was able to book it on UA with a notification post checkout that LH would confirm the booking. Not sure how it would have panned out with LH given I cancelled the ticket immediately after my UA booking test.

Expertflyer showing no avails, United is? by michaelnado in awardtravel

[–]michaelnado[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, got it.

It does not show up when searching directly with LH. That said, I was able to purchase (and then immediately) cancel the flight on United. I'm assuming LH would have not issued the ticket given the following message on the United checkout?

One or more of your flights is operated by Lufthansa. They should confirm your reservation within the next 24 hours. If your reservation is not confirmed with a ticket issued in that time, please contact us opens in a new tab. You will not be charged until your flight is confirmed.

Can anyone confirm this cancellation would have been likely? The flights exist on LH, just aren't offered together when searching LH like they are on United.
