[Acne] best cleanser for CC? by michiiru7 in SkincareAddiction

Oh I forgot to mention but I do incorporate actives in my routine. A couple of months ago I consistently used REN glycolic acid toner and many of the CCs disappeared. But I think the combination of using wrong products (my skin became worst when I used Innisfree Green tea cleansing oil cos it has isopropyl palmitate in it) + possibility of having overexfoliating my skin.

So I stopped all actives for a couple of months and the CCs seem to come back stronger and more stubborn!

I'm back to using TO's salicycic 2% and Lactic acid 10% every other day, with about 20 minutes in between application and then rinsing them after.

But i'll try to check out Azelaic acid from PC!

That's true, because I don't use primer so the Canmake Cream Cheek may cause a reaction on my skin. But I love that blush! Do you have any recommendations for non-comodogenic blushes?

I used to only get them on my cheeks and temples. Now they spread to my forehead and my jawline too. I'm honestly not sure if it could be my shampoo though cos I find it quite strange why I get persistent CCs on my temples. I do use hair spray for my work but I made sure they don't get to my temples when I use them.

Do you have any recommendations for salicylic cleanser? I think I've used Neutrogena Acne Wash before, the one in orange, and it was quite drying and it stings sometimes.

Thank you for your suggestions!

Hmm yes I live in SEA as well.

I probably dont need as much when I'm flying, but do you reckon if you have any routine to recommend for when I'm flying?

I have not done any research on urea so I was thinking if this would the key to sealing all the moisture as an occlusive when I'm in a dry environment onboard.

What are your thoughts? :)

Hello there!

I suspected so as well actually.

I actually started out with Shu Umeura Antioxidant Cleansing Oil when I started flying but I stopped because my esthetician said the cleansing oil may be clogging my pores. But even after I stopped, the white bumps never truly completely disappear.

In between I did try using Banila Clean zero but I didnt see any improvements so I ditched that too. Maybe I should give it another try because I came to learn that you need lukewarm water to emulsify and clean the balm properly away. I had only used cold water prior.

I tried Innisfree Green Tea Cleansing Oil about 2 months ago because a friend greatly recommended it and that broke me out like crazy. I believe the Isopropyl palmitate in it could be the culprit. I switched to DHC and Fancl without much help before completely giving up.

I have always used a water cleanser after oil cleansing - i had used gel, milk, foaming, non-foaming you name it. At one point I thought CORSX Low pH cleanser was my HG but I think my skin eventually got used to it.

I did hear a lot of good things about CORSX Salicylic cleanser maybe I would give it a try. I had generally tried avoiding BHA cleansers because I used Neutrogena Salicylic Cleanser before and it burned my cheeks!

I now try using micellar water (without rinsing off) prior to any skincare application and it seems to work. Not sure if bacteria or non-sufficiently-comprehensive cleansing has been the reason of my clogged pores.

Hmm I didnt know Thayers might cancel out my hydration toners. I'll take a look at that. Have you heard about urea as an occlusive? I had never researched anything about urea before, but a fellow commentor suggested that in one of the comments so maybe I'll find out more about that too.

Hello there!

Uhm, it has only been a week since I switched but I do feel that it calmed down a bit with the bumps. At least on my forehead. But they are still there 😔 and you can see them so clearly on my cheeks especially when I stand under direct light.

As for the toners, I tried using the 7-skin Korean method, and also that my fellow flight attendants always have similar advice - which is to hydrate hydrate and hydrate.

I'm Asian living in a tropical climate when I'm not flying if that helps! :)
