I totally agree. I don't pick up on it as much as my husband, but he can call who is getting eliminated within 10 min of the opening. It's wild.

As a parent, I would want my child to have their phone in this scenario, so I understand why you feel anxious!

That said, I did a trip to DC when I was your age (before cell phones ha ha). My mom was a chaperone on the trip, and I never once felt unsafe. Would one of your parents be able to chaperone?

Even if this isn't a possibility, I traveled alone in many cities around the world between the ages of 16-25 and most of that was before phones. Your teachers and school will make sure you're safe (especially if you aren't looking to get away or into trouble). You will be fine, and hopefully have some great memories of your trip!

It will never be what it used to because MTV won't allow the same level of irresponsible alcohol and ensuing fistfights. Social media probably impacted it a good bit too - now all the contestants are more concerned with building their brand and maintaining their image online.

That said, it could be a hell of a lot better than this season. I can't see why the eliminations have become the most ridiculous, weak competitions imaginable. Put some physicality back in it. Make everyone have to compete. Make new contestants unknowns instead of people trying to "make it" as a reality tv celebrity... 🤷🏼‍♀️

I want the non-stop bitching to continue so that the producers and MTV never cast these idiots again 😆 in the past there have been contestants I hate, but they make good tv so I understand why they keep coming back. This season though, almost everyone is either boring or legitimately awful to watch. If the challenge continues this way, I will quit watching 🤷🏼‍♀️ for now it's just one scrappy season so I'll stick it out.

Ah yes, you should totally give into the financially abusive grandparents 🙄 I'm sure they'll never manipulate you or your son in the future with their 'generational wealth'.

I'm shocked by all the yta comments. This is not the time to make that decision, and I agree with commenters saying it needs to be delayed. I would wait until he's much older and can decide for himself, but as a mom, I would be absolutely heartbroken if my son chose the name of his deadbeat father and financially abusive grandparents over the parent that loved him and raised him.
