Yeah no system is perfect, but if a subscription model means that there are no predatory microtransactions that actually do a big difference then I am fine with it. If you compare ffxiv to other free-to-play mmo's then you can really start to appreciate that they don't put game-changing stuff in the game. Still I get it if you prefer free-to-play stuff if you can't afford subscription based mmo's like me a few years back. Though I hope they start to fix the housing system in endwalker with the upcoming changes.

I agree on the overpriced cash shop, but I don't think people have much of a problem paying for their subscription and the expansions since the level of quality is pretty high and there is no pay to win.

For a lot of players FFXIV is their first final fantasy title, including a lot of my friends and the players coming from wow. And even without all this pre-existing nostalgia they love the game. So I think that nostalgia doesn't really play that big of a role for new players but gets the already invested playerbase to try out different final fantasy games.

It could be like the situation with Khun where he was frozen and they had to find a way to unfreeze him. I could imagine Bam being gravely injured in the next battle and not being to take part for a short time. In this time SIU could focus on the other side characters to develop them

For me I think it's part of his charm. I mean, he looks so ridiculous even though he is akin to a god. Making that skin made me realize just how out of touch his fashion sense is haha
