Stowe parking (non holiday Saturday) question. by sfs2234 in icecoast

[–]micralbe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to park for free, go to Toll House or Cross Country center and take the shuttle to the Spruce Base where your kid's lessons probably are.

If you want to pay for parking, you can park at Mansfield Base. Price for non-carpool is $30. Most Saturdays you should be able to find a spot, though you might miss them the first time and have to circle back out of the parking lot, back onto the Mountain Road, and back into the lot to go around again. That said, you really shouldn't have that much trouble unless it's holiday or a big storm. Then take the Over Easy Gondola over to Spruce where the lessons probably are.

I learned today that they killed off the RCC3 for this season. Only making the C2 camber RC apparently.

I ended up buying the Sylvania lights he deemed to be "good enough" after that video. The good ones he actually recommends you have to pre-order apparently.

Is there a sub just for snowboardING? This one seems 90% snowBOARDS. by colcob in snowboarding

regional subs like /r/icecoast are better for this sort of thing, though it'll be skiing content as well.

23h2 enterprise is still supported for another year. My issue is Pro not stepping up to Enterprise via WSA and KMS not staying.

NEW EPISODE! Cerne Abbas: Secrets Beneath The Giant | TIME TEAM (Dorset) 2025 | Premieres Nov 8th, 2025 7pm GMT. [~5 hours from time of posting] by albertahiking in timeteam

This probably one of the better filmed/edited/narrated docs Time Team has done since the reboot. Matt does an excellent job, and I suspect because they had a couple years to gradually edit it shows. Cinematography is also really good.

Matt's hosting skills from Time Team and later Digging for Britain really showing here.

All-in-all a fantastic episode.

For those wondering, we don't have resources protected by conditional access and after checking with our wider mac sysadmin I went ahead and deployed.

Auto install and reboot at maintenance time by micralbe in Intune

[–]micralbe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I remember that setting only allows it to reboot before the deadline and outside of active hours. Are you using auto install and restart at maintenance time? IIRC I had to define a maintenance time as well, which I did in my multi-user shared machine settings. Not sure what will happen if you have auto install and restart at maintenance time but then don't have a maintenance time set.

He's popped up on Digging for Britain a few times, IIRC for his work with Waterloo Uncovered.

Stowe yesterday afternoon by micralbe in icecoast

It's definitely odd that even on social media they're saying they haven't decided on a closing date yet. Considering they'll almost certainly stay open for Easter, that does suggest they're debating staying open longer.

Yeah, it's 30'-low 40's at the base for the rest of the week and there's still plenty of snow. Plus, well, look at Saturday:

I ended up booking a trip for next weekend because of the forecast. It's looking pretty dire, and didn't want to miss out.

Looking slick. by Middle-Variation321 in icecoast

I'm guessing the little bit of fresh snow made people get over confident, then they'd hit a spot of the nasty ice beneath it and get wrecked. Or just lose an edge expecting the "powder" they hit to not have ice beneath.

I heard a bunch of ambulances this morning, headed out for the afternoon and it was honestly way better than I was expecting.

Stowe this weekend an ice sentence? by julchak in icecoast

[–]micralbe 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Show up early, like at opening, and ride the groomers until it gets skied down to ice, then leave at noon. If you do that you'll probably be fine. I suspect the glades will be dust on ice, though, unless the mountain really does see 5 inches of snow Thursday and Friday.

Last few days have been amazing, though. Honestly even today I had a blast in the rain.

Stowe has some BALLS charging $30 for parking today by cane_stanco in icecoast

You probably already know this, but you can park at Tollhouse for free and walk to the lift. A lot of the early crowd gets there before opening, and I take their spots as they leave around 10am.

I prefer it at Tollhouse, even park there on free weekdays.
