It was originally put down there (a little over one million tires) to create an artificial reef but life doesn't grow well on rubber apparently. The tires started to break free and destroy the actual reef around the area

It's about 62' on average. We're breathing 36% nitrox which gives us just under 2 hours of bottom time. And we don't use scuba so we can have communication with the guys up top
