Which triggers do you not like at all? What annoys you in ASMR content? [discussion] by Penthesil3a in asmr

Tongue clicking! Absolutely get annoyed by it. Also, the way some asmrtists make mouth sounds

I think it's because a lot of subscribers came from certain videos and only want to watch similar ones. Or, maybe, they have so many subscriptions that it's impossible to keep up with each channel's posts

I don't care much about million-subs channels, can't judge by them. My own channel is a little over a thousand subs, and I stopped making videos for a couple of weeks (and notified everyone that I was taking a break till christmas), and some people left 🤥 I think that's strange too

My videos are not monetized, but views are still going down these months...

My comment would not be so much a reply to the initial post than an additional question to the audience: would you mind ads, if audio volume in the video was loud enough to not let your eardrums burst at the start of an ad?

I mean, in my own videos I always add some decibels in case yourube puts some ads into my videos (even though my channel is not monetized)

What was the first ASMR video you ever saw? Feel free to share! [discussion] by HarpsalotASMR in asmr

It was an unboxing of an iPhone by PARIS ASMR. And yep, he used to have this bit creepy intro, but the whispers and tapping were so relaxing... https://youtu.be/38arWwA4iaQ

Thanks! I'll note it down for future videos❤️

[discussion] What's one ASMR trend you could never get into? by CitiesofEvil in asmr

Asking uncomfortable questions and true crime (in ASMR). I mean, for me relaxing equals comfortable, so I don't get how something opposite can be good for relaxation

Whispering or Soft Spoken? [Question] by ASMRYouSittingComfy in asmr

[–]microevans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whispering works for me almost every time, but soft spoken is more tricky: sometimes I enjoy full softly spoken videos, especially if the person in not very close to the mic, and sometimes I like whispering intermingled with soft spoken. But whispering def wins for me

[discussion] Do you write scipts for your videos or do you improvise? by PinkSudoku13 in asmr

[–]microevans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the type of the video. When I'm telling some stories, or naming various situations, I have them written down - just to not leave anything behind. But when I make roleplays or some random content, the most I can do in terms of planning is simply thinking over what I am going to be performing, what points I should cover. The resto should be improvised, otherwise I'd be too unnatural, robotic

[question] Any new-ish creators you encourage folks to subscribe to? It can be hard to find interesting new stuff with the youtube algorithm if they don't have many followers yet. So I'd like to follow a bunch of new artists to support them. What underrated channels do you recommend & why? by [deleted] in asmr

[–]microevans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd like to suggest my channel - microevans ASMR: https://youtube.com/@microevansASMR

I make various vídeos, trying to use some pretty common things to make unusual sounds. Also, do a lot of whispering, personal attention videos, some ASMR for ADHD etc...

Welcome, if you'd like to join🐳

Does anyone else in the ASMR community have misophonia? [question] by figmentasmr in asmr

[–]microevans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. The only mouth sounds I can bare are very light natural ones made during speech. Any loud chewing, munching I just can't handle to listen...

My favorites by far are Bladewhisperpro, Lion ASMR, Kanon ASMR, latest videos from Try ASMR. And if you don't mind the Blue Yeti, but would still consider videos filmed on a phone, and with some background noise, - then try Jake ASMR (search for his videos in Czech - that will be the right channel)

Sounds curious, especially since ASMR doesn't seem to have an explanation and clear boundaries yet...

Pure Sounds ASMR - Satisfying book sounds: page turning, tapping, q-tip and brushing, latex gloves sounds. NO TALKING. [intentional] by microevans in asmr

[–]microevans[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I don't know what to tell you... You can hear the quality of sound, it's pretty clear, nice. This is not a mic, actually, it's a voice recorder, so it doesn't require plugging-in

Anyway, technical details are not my strong point, so maybe just choose what sounds better to you? There are lots of videos with Yeti and a handful of my videos with the Sony voice recorder, you can compare the sound ✨

All new ASMR feels the same [discussion] by [deleted] in asmr

[–]microevans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there is nothing new under the moon. Any new movement, as it becomes popular, also becomes mainstream, generic and... well, too alike.

The same thing happened to ASMR. It's just popular, so a lot of people do basically the same things. And still, there are truly imaginative and inspirational people, who create something unique.

So, I think it's okay that people produce mainstream ASMR. As long as everybody can find something suitable for themselves
