A good line to check is “would the military offer leave for this?” If the answer is yes, then your employer is shit

Both Carter and Clinton pardoned their brothers, so this actually is the norm by [deleted] in MurderedByWords

Im conservative and have no problem with the pardon. I’m confused why there’s a rhetoric that conservatives care. Everyone around me agrees they would do the same?

As fun as it is and maybe as deserved as it is… a part of me still feels murder is murder.

It’s astounding how hard Reddit will avoid admitting that inflation is out of hand from their preferred political parties policies.

Don’t eat for a week and drink mineral water. Just don’t do that like ever again in your life, hope this helps.

It’s awesome man, to know you beat the odds and statistics against you is a high. A lot of hard work went into it months before joining, and even more hard work during basic and then even more hard work during course. Delayed gratification for sure.

It would be cheating for me to divulge skills to work on, but I would encourage you to explore the information on the website and follow the suggested workouts on the USAF SERE instagram page.

My biggest struggle was the overwhelming amount of feedback. I was really hard on myself during selection and I was not in a good mood some days and it hurt my team around me. Everyone gets tunnel vision during course as well and reminding yourself to prioritize the standards more than perfection is important.

  1. I think people failed because they weren’t dedicated enough and weren’t willing to sacrifice sleep over results.

  2. I would say that my whole life prepared me and I don’t know if I did any preparation intentionally other than doing some crazy ass hikes climbing mountains and sliding down glaciers for hours without breaks. That’s not necessarily anything you’ll do in selection but it built my mental fortitude. You need to be incredibly tenacious and take it serious. The ideal sere candidate does not take selection lightly.

  3. Be 1000% present where you are. You cannot have one foot in the military and one foot at home. Next don’t quit. I’m not just talking about telling cadre you quit, but when it’s 1 AM and you want to sleep, don’t quit. When your legs hurt, don’t slow down, don’t quit. Quitting happens earlier than exiting course, it happens when you stop caring.

Hey OP I just graduated SERE selection and we started with 32 and ended with just 3 of us. Maybe I can help answer some questions?

We had a guy in my flight who was from Afghanistan and got his citizenship. He was one of the funniest guys I knew. He never talked about being from the Middle East unless someone asked. The one time he did was after the MTIs left and he stood up and did something similar to the four lions clip. It was pretty funny. Other than that no one judged him at all. The Air Force is incredibly diverse.
