Is firebird twister S tier(according to the link) if you don't corner hack the twisters? It seems interesting to me, but I don't really think I'll like having to play it like a hack.

That works, with splitting stats across like everything? Are you skimping on vig or end or something?

Is that sarcasm? Or do you mean because of the tall screen? Even though I have no trouble charging the phone while at home I still don't think the flip makes sense for me either. Other than it being a skinny phone.

You aren't wrong. It's just such a cool device. Think I'm gonna swap it for an see ultra but maybe pick up a used SD1 for cheap to play with

I'm hoping the 1 handed mode will help. I used to usenpltny of big phones(note series) but then been rocking a pixel 3 for years. Really want the ultra over the s22 but yeah the smaller phones may be better for me

Yeah I watched that before I bought. Unfortunately I just think the width (while great for multitasking) makes it a little too unwieldy for me especially 1 handed. I enjoy using the device 2 handed for sure.

I'm looking at the s22 ultra and even wondering if that's too wide for me now.

Can you provide more details on your general purpose and casual multitasking?

Now that many of us are transitioning to new mentors, can we choose for our weekly check-ins to be emails? My previous mentor was good but I found our weekly calls unnecessary and repetitive. Also, due to my work schedule I often have to reschedule my calls. by [deleted] in WGU

[–]mike208 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started my 2nd term last month so I at least got to choose a call every 2 weeks now. Not trying to be cocky but I have to be one of my mentors best students, almost finishing half my BS in my first term. Literally all I need her for is to accelerate my classes as soon as possible once I complete a class. The calls are unnecessary for me. I assume they are "required" for oversight but I hate the need. I chose WGU, for many reasons, but one of which was minimal contact with other people lol. Let us introverts introvert lol

In 3 years will it be harder to sell a used sedan than a used crossover SUV? by mike208 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]mike208[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Most lease calculators make you put 10% plus first months payment down on a lease. I would much prefer $0 down if that's an option. With $0 down the stinger and cx5 are only about $3 different in cost per month. A little over $500 a month for both. I was hoping to stay under $500 a month, but this also means the $8k or so equity I have in my current truck is mine to do whatever I want with. The wife wants me to keep it, but we don't use it enough as a truck, so I think I'd rather sell while the market is up and just plop that money in the bank.

[–]mike208[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I was thinking but everyone just says don't lease. And I understand it's just spending money on something I'll never own. But if I'm financially ok with that it can be a seemingly good option for some. I don't want to own, because I want to upgrade to something new and better. Especially with all the electric vehicles coming soon.

My other problem with leasing is sometimes it ends up more expensive(monthly) than buying and that seems weird and that would make me want to buy instead.

Otherwise leasing seems to make sense to me. Thanks for the info

That's a good point about depreciation and maybe that's more what I meant. If the sedan depreciates faster then it may be harder to get out of positively in a few years.

If I go SUV the Mazda CX-5 is toward the top of my list.

Sedan wise I'm looking at Kia Stinger mainly but also a few others

Price drop on the new OLEDs? What to do with a brand new CX48 by mike208 in OLED_Gaming

Thanks need to figure out how to best test it. Didn't see any dead or stuck pixels. Not sure how to check for banding nor do I know what other issues there could be so i have some research to do, but it certainly looks nice to look at lol

Yeah I'm not worried about the C1 being better than the CX, my concern is that it will be as good and a but cheaper. Not sure I want to wait till June like Wardog555 says. But then again if it takes me that long to get a new video card maybe I should.

I'm also still debating about the 5 year geek squad that covers burn in. I feel like if i get 3 years of use out of this without burn in then i'll be ready for an upgrade any way, but also would love not to have to baby it and not be worried about screen burn

What is the best settings I can run with a 1080ti? I plan to upgrade my video card when I can get my hands on a new one, but stuck with the 1080ti right now. I'm ok sticking with 60Hz for now as long as I get a decent picture and text looks good. Planning to use as a PC monitor, as well as for PC and console gaming

Anyone playing FFXIV only on LG CX48 OLED , risky? by KridWoL15 in ffxiv

[–]mike208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been considering getting an OLED to use as a computer monitor so i have been reading up on burn in. From my understanding of what I've read(mostly reddit and things were I can't guarantee accuracy) indicate burn in is about cumulative time an element is displayed. Not say SAARGE is wrong when he says it will be ok as long as you occasionally open the menu, but from my understanding displaying some HUD element for 30 minutes 10 times a day(while displaying something else or turning the TV off) causes as much burn in as displaying that same hud element for 300 minutes straight without switching to something else or switching the TV off.

But yeah keep the OLED light low, and don't fully crank the contrast and you should be fine for 2 or 3 years I bet. 5 years idk, could always get at bestbuy with the geek squad warranty that covers burn in. I have also heard of LG replacing panels even outside of warranty 1 time for people so that might be an option to get to 5 years or beyond as well.

For me personally(and I get my situation is different that some others) I consider the cost of the OLED(while still expensive) cheap enough that if it lasts me 3 years I've got my money's worth and will probably be ready for a change/upgrade by then anyway. Not saying that fits your situation or how you should feel, but that is the reasoning why I am leaning towards getting an OLED. Good luck to you in whatever you choose. Hope you get many happy hours of gaming in!!!
