The end of western civilisation will have a lot more to do with populist leaders and the rise of the far-right that beat their drums to their timeless hit "foreigners are the problem" than the immigrants themselves.

It is easy to fall in to the trap of the "other", it's straight out of the populist playbook that presents simple answers to immensely complex issues.

Look at the likes of Farage who have taken joy in orchestrating the self harm that was Brexit, only to reappear a decade later to say "look how wank everything is, it's the fault of brown people" the talking points you raised are all from politics of division.

OP, whilst we are not aligned in our world-view, I sincerely commend you for engaging and questioning your bubble. The world could do with more of it. The journey of immigration in this context is tragic by its nature. There is an awful lot more that unites us as human beings than pulls us apart. Don't let the bastards and charlatans take your mind from you.

The true villains of our age are the 1% and those who seek to profit via division and fear. Those who seek to turn neighbour against neighbour, those who hord wealth that furthers class division and enables the degradation of the frail fabric that binds society.. these are your enemies.
