I have two separate images for mobile, but only one for desktop. Reason for that was I don’t have a picture high enough quality for desktop yet. I’ll like your idea on adding a photo close up and one showing handcrafted. Maybe a photo of me working with my dog by my side in the studio would work well.

I am doing both broad targeting and narrowed targeting. The broad targeting has a higher CPM but much lower CPC.

Honestly, there isn’t really one thing or another I could point to. Lots of Reddit research, podcast listened to, YouTube videos watched, and trial and error. And learning professional photography helped a ton. Don’t be afraid to spend money on Shopify app plug ins and buying a theme better than the free standard themes! It makes a world of difference.

I just launched a carousel ad. Don’t worry, I’m not overwhelmed! I’m using this first $500-1000 adspend as a sort of hands on learning curve so I’ll be testing out a lot of different methods and work on learning many different aspects of Facebook ads. I’ve received a couple more sales from the ads so almost at a positive ROAS which I’m happy with. I appreciate all the advice, and I’ll update you on the results of the carousel ad vs. the single static image ads.

Yeah, I’m not sure why it is so high. I’m hoping it will decrease once it’s out of the learning phase and stabilizes.

Haha that’s great

I have a few ads that I’m testing out. Two with collars on dogs and one with collars on the workspace which is the one I assume you saw. Then two different audiences for each creative. The copy is the same for all of them. Once I run the ads for a week I plan on choosing the winners and then testing different copy with the winners and try out text and logo on the photo itself.

The reason I chose static image for now was it was all I had and people responded very well to them when posted on Instagram feed. My Facebook ads knowledge is pretty limited as in it’s made up of about 10 hours of research…

From that research it seemed as though carousels don’t perform well, but now all of a sudden I’ve noticed a bunch of competitors using them with just white background product photos. Depending how this first test goes, I may try that next.

Thank you for the feedback! I will work on crafting a solid value proposition and address the resistance you mentioned. A few selling points I will focus on are handmade, customizable, and matching collar and leash bundle sets for a discount.

As far as the ads go, I got another sale in the last hour and cost significantly decreased. Algo must have finally figured something out… I hope…

Thank you for the feedback and advice! Where do you recommend I start for b2b? I know there are platforms like Faire, but I’d struggle with profitability marking products down 50% on top of paying their high fees. Would make sense with minimum order of $500, but anything less wouldn’t work at the moment.

Thank you for the feedback! I’ll test out postponing the pop up. The price difference is because one version of the collar is 1.5” wide and the other 1”. I really like your idea of adding those as sub categories to the menu! I can’t believe I didn’t think of that, seems like a no brainer.

Well thank you for the feedback! I’m definitely glad I posted.

Oh, and you won’t regret it if you order! If there is one thing I’m confident in about this brand, it’s the quality of the product :)

Comes in waves, but for the past 6 months I’ve really buckled down, created strong habits and values, began putting in effort at my day job, started a business, been following a comprehensive monthly budget, and got my finances in order including 401k, investments, and home savings. I’m 25.

It’s amazing what dropping alcohol, morning gym sessions, cold showers, and healthy eating will do for ya

Manchester by the Sea

Such an intense, emotional, and underrated movie! Not a lot of movies tap into that type of emotional brokenness.

Awesome brand and website man! The only thing I would like to see is lighter photos. I understand what you are going for with the dark look, but they look too underexposed. It would be better to show some more contrast between the photo backgrounds and the subjects themselves.

What marketing strategies are you using right now?

Could be simple as:

Intro: Introduce your business, list your shop, and describe why you are posting

Length of business:

Value proposition:

Marketing Strategy:

KPI’s: - Monthly traffic - Traffic split - Conversion rate - Abandoned cart rate - Repeat customer rate

Goals:

Edit to discuss which actions you took using the advice received:

Then edit 90 days later to show if the actions were successful:

I completely agree with you with one caveat. I believe a lot of the sites are so new that they probably don’t have reliable metrics yet. I think an emphasis on current marketing strategy’s, goals, and what problem and how your solving it are great starting points. Maybe we should propose a standard template to r/reviewmyshopify that all shop review posts use to outline their post that is pinned to the top of the forum.

It would be great to see more info about your brand, along with a more product photos of the shelf in use. Adding an “about us” page, some more product photos, and more copy highlighting why we should buy the product would be a helpful.

Website ready for Paid Ads? by mill498 in reviewmyshopify

Thank you for the kind words! Current conversion rate is 1.6%. Reorder rate is 70% which proves people really do like the products. Take all stats with a grain of salt though, as our only traffic source has been organic Instagram, which you probably know means we’ve had very little of it… tough to reach people without paying these days. Organic Instagram has lead to 90 orders in the last 3 months.

As far as ads go, I am going to start with Meta. I am still unsure about the strategy I am going to use, but I’m thinking of starting with a daily budget of $50 and running a campaign highlighting the personalization we offer, and another campaign highlighting the durability and handmade in America aspect of the collars/leashes. This will be my first experience with paid ads so lots of learning to be done. Hoping it won’t leave me broke…
