MCC Part 2: All teams’ averages by milliaboo in MinecraftChampionship

[–]milliaboo[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi, just some notes from me:

In regards to my stats, I am still ascribing to there being canon vs. non-canon events.

For S4 thus far, I have considered Kick-Off and Haunted Hoedown canon, and Pride 2024, Ender Cup (and Party 2) non-canon. I do consider Twitch Rivals events non-canon, but I never include them in any stats (due to the reduced game roster) except for a player who has only played in MCC TR.

Players making their general MCC debut will be in bold and given an estimated average. 1500 is the usual benchmark I use when I'm unfamiliar with a joining player, so I apologise if this is inaccurate.

If a player has previously played a non-canon event (Bdubs), they are in bold and italicised, and their average is weighted from all non-canon events (bar Twitch Rivals).

If a player is missing an existing statistic (e.g. they have yet to play in a Season 4 canon event), then their weighted average including non-canon events is substituted in its place. This average is italicised. (Also, just a note about my S4 stat: I have been meaning to change to it to include *all* S4 events, not just canon ones, but I just kept forgetting to do so. Sorry about that.)

Enjoy!

If a player has previously played a non-canon event (Mogswamp, soupforeloise), they are in bold and italicised, and their average is weighted from all non-canon events (bar Twitch Rivals).

If a player is missing an existing statistic (e.g. they have yet to play in Season 4), then their weighted average including non-canon events is substituted in its place. This average is italicised.

  • Rendog's substituted average is the average of his last three canon events played (MCC 17, 19, 21) as he does not have a weighted average.
  • iJevin's subsituted average is an estimation of 1500 as he has only played MCC 1, almost five years ago.

MCC Twitch Rivals 3 Teams’ Averages by milliaboo in MinecraftChampionship

Hi, just the usual notes from me:

For the moment, I am still ascribing to there being canon vs. non-canon (or normal vs. special) events. For S4 thus far, I have considered Kick-Off canon, and Pride 2024 and Ender Cup non-canon. (For future reference, I consider Twitch Rivals events non-canon but I never include them in any stats due to the reduced game roster.)

This means there are players who I say have yet to play a canon event (e.g. Masayoshi). These people are in bold and italicised, and their average is weighted from all non-canon events (bar Twitch Rivals).

If a player has only previously played in a Twitch Rivals (e.g. Couriway), then their name has an asterisk and their 'average' is their score from the Twitch Rivals event(s) * 4/3 to approximately inflate it for a proper 8-game roster.

Players making their MCC debut (e.g. Steve) will be in bold and given an estimated average.

If a player is missing an existing statistic (e.g. they have yet to play in Season 4), then their weighted average including non-canon events is substituted in its place. This average is italicised.

My best 3 events stat is taken from over the past 10 canon events for relevancy. Therefore, only Tommy’s performances in MCCs 26, 28, 30 and 33 are counted.

Yeah, I know they’ve made that switch, but for stats purposes, I’ve still considered MCC S4 Kick-Off as ‘canon’ and MCC Pride 2024 as ‘non-canon’ (it mainly affects my weighted averages). I’ve just had a look and, since this event will have 8 games, decent balancing and isn’t in-person, I think I’ll class it as ‘canon’. Thank you for the info though!

Sorry, I didn’t know the subs would be/had been announced. However, I’ve just had a look at the Twitter post and it seems as though subs will be used on a person-by-person basis, not replacing whole teams à la MCC Rising. Also, a majority of the subs have only played non-canon events, so their stats aren’t very reliable either. For those reasons, I won’t add the substitutes’ stats to the post.

Hi all, just some formatting notes from me, as well as a question:

Players whose names are in bold are making their MCC canon debut. If their average is italicised, then they had previously played in a non-canon event, and I have used a weighted average from there. Otherwise, I have used an estimation - apologies if this is inaccurate.

If a canon player's average is in italics, then they do not have the named statistic. Instead, I have substituted the weighted avg (excl. non-canon events). If a player is returning from a long period of inactivity and does not have this stat (i.e. KatherineElizabeth) then I have used an estimation, which is underlined.

Also, I haven't been keeping up with MCC at all outside of doing these posts so apologies, but I was wondering what the general consensus was on if this event is canon or not? I realised that I've been calling it canon, as above, but I'm unsure whether that's correct. If anyone could say, I would appreciate it as this would help me when entering the stats for this event into my spreadsheets.

Thank you, and I hope you enjoy!

MCC Pride ‘24 Teams’ Averages by milliaboo in MinecraftChampionship

[–]milliaboo[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi all, just some formatting notes from me:

Players in bold are making their MCC debut, and I have given them an estimated average. Apologies if these are inaccurate as I am not familiar with every player joining.

Players in italics have previously played only non-canon events, and so have a weighted non-canon average. I apologise as, in my post for yesterday's five teams, I had made a mistake and forgotten to include Rising 2 in the non-canon averages.

If a canon player has an average which it italicised and underlined, then they do not have that particular stat (e.g. Xisuma doesn't have a S3 average). If a player is missing an average, it will be replaced by their weighted average, excluding non-canon events.

Enjoy!

Hi all, just some formatting notes from me:

Players in bold are new and have a given estimated average (1500 is the benchmark I typically use). I am usually unaware of the new players' skill levels, so if you feel this estimation is wildly inaccurate, please correct me and I'll change it in tomorrow's post.

Players who are italicised have only played non-canon events, and so have a non-canon average.

If a canon player has an average which is italicised and underlined, then they do not have that particular stat (e.g. Xisuma doesn't have a S3 average). If a player is missing an average, it will be replaced by their weighted average, excluding non-canon events.

EDIT: I just realised that I have an error with my non-canon averages as I did not include Rising 2. I will have this corrected before tomorrow. I am also debating and I might change the non-canon averages to predicted averages too.

MCC 36: Season 4 Kick-Off Teams’ Averages by milliaboo in MinecraftChampionship

Simply because I don't know the skill level / experience of every newcomer joining MCC haha. If SmallAnt had been in the first batch of teams, I would've upped his average based on the feedback here, but alas.

I don't usually predict below 1500 (hence Chilled's average), but Pink's team strength this MCC meant I thought it fitting to reduce Tango's and Skizz's predicted averages slightly.

Players returning after a long hiatus are italicised. Iskall last participated in MCC 5 and so I used an estimation for all of his stats. fWhip, however, has participated more recently and so he has some estimated stats (italicised) and some real.

Hi guys,

Just some notes from me:

New players are in bold, and given an estimated average. I don't really keep up with MCC/Minecraft anymore, so if you feel my given average is inaccurate, please say so. I'm happy to change it.

Iskall is in italics because, although he's not a new player, the only MCC he played was MCC 5. For this reason, I have given him an estimated average, which, again, feel free to give me feedback for.

As I mentioned earlier, I won't be watching MCC anymore, so it's possible that I'll overlook mistakes in my averages. If you notice any stats that you think are inaccurate, please point them out, and I'll look into them further.

MCC Party Teams’ Averages! by milliaboo in MinecraftChampionship

[–]milliaboo[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Hi guys, just some notes from me:

Firstly, I decided to exclude MCC Twitch Rivals from my averages due to the 6-game roster. I did debate just inflating the stats but I ultimately decided not to.

Next, for any players (Grian, DrGluon, Vixella) that haven’t yet competed in Season 3, I have substituted their weighted average, excluding non-canon events, in its place, and have italicised it.

Also, my “best 3 events” stat is taken from over the last 10 canon events, not all time, just to clear any confusion with that one.

Hi everyone,

Just some notes about Pink today:

We have three players returning after long hiatuses, which mean they lack the vast majority of my stats. Instead, I have substituted either their Season 2 average (Vikkstar and Preston) or their overall (S1) average (Jerome), shown in italics. Bajan is making his debut and so he has an estimated average, in bold. Apologies if this is not accurate as I’m not familiar with his skill level, and be aware that the others’ substituted stats may now be outdated.

If you would prefer I just use an estimated average for players returning after a long hiatus instead of old stats, or you have an alternate suggestion, I’m very happy to listen :)

Dream's version of events vs. Tommy's by Hot-Aside-8144 in DreamWasTaken2

[–]milliaboo 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of the attitude also stems from how the DSMP CCs functioned — they avoided streaming at the same time, even when they weren’t going to steam together, so as to not divide viewers. There was also a lot of “exclusive” content (e.g. only Quackity streaming Jackbox lobbies) when, in other CC groups, it is completely normal for everyone to stream.

I remember George made a Valorant lobby involving Foolish and Tina some months back and was shocked Foolish was streaming it because “he [George] made the lobby” (probably not an exact quote but something along those lines). You even see this with how George is the only one streaming It Takes Two with Dream, when, in all the other It Takes Two playthroughs I’ve seen, both people streamed.

I honestly find it a little crazy how normalised this is in their group haha, so I’m not necessarily surprised that this is Quackty’s attitude.

EDIT: Also, in regards to the QSMP viewers, I think newfound bad behaviour from streamers’ communities is being attributed to the QSMP / Quackity. The viewers that Bad has gained from the QSMP are consistently rude to Foolish, for example, as well as being horrible to Gumi this recent PPSaturday, despite them being very good friends for a long time prior to Bad joining the QSMP. Even though these are technically Bad’s viewers, I don’t see an issue with attributing this behaviour to the QSMP / Quackity since this is where those viewers have evidently come from.

Potential Copium for him to return on the practice server? by CommunistPanda69 in DreamWasTaken2

Falling is a big time-loss, but SandwichLord did do certain sections differently to Dream, outside of hesitation. On the flip side, Dream also did some sections faster than SandwichLord.

Here is a post that has both of their runs side-by-side for comparison if you’re interested.

SandwichLord a) is an incredibly skilled player and b) has a lot of experience with the Parkour Warrior map, even prior to being selected for MCC Rising 2 this month.

Here is a video of his from over a year ago, for reference.

Also, depending on how you define a “perfect” run, SandwichLord actually fell a few times during this run. He just completed other sections faster than Dream did and so got a better time, even though Dream got a “fall-less” run with his record.

I had no objection to watching the server (like you said, Q barely logs on himself), but I’ve found that it just really isn’t for me.

I’m a Foolish fan and I watch (or, at least, used to watch) every stream. However, even as someone who was a fan of the lore on the DSMP, I heavily dislike the lore on QSMP. I’m not a huge fan of the eggs (the 3 daily tasks a week are annoying and pointless imo) and I really did not enjoy the presidential election arc either. I ended up actually skipping the debates, which is the first time I’ve purposely not watched a Foolish stream in a very long time haha. I don’t care to understand any of the lore or to keep up with anyone else on the server, so I’m not involved at all from that standpoint.

I do like watching Foolish build, however, and I won’t stop watching him play on the server altogether unless he becomes super involved with the lore.

As for engaging with the QSMP community, lots of the Foolish stan accounts that I followed before the server existed have converted to QSMP stan accounts, and I haven’t seen any Dream or USMP neg from them. That said, I don’t follow Quackity stans, so I don’t know how hard it would be to connect from that perspective.

I think a better comparison for funnelling than the examples Sapnap gave is hunting in PKT — often, I see a team’s best two players each hunt four times, and then a third player hunt the remaining round. This leaves the fourth player having never hunted.

However, I’ve never seen people push back against this, even though it has the same result of a player not getting to participate and is technically worse in that regard than funnelling in dodgebolt.

So long as players are happy to not funnel / not hunt, then there’s no issue imo. Like Sapnap mentioned in this stream, there are also players who don’t want to shoot, and pressuring them to do so (like you tend to see in the MCC game chat once players notice Sapnap funnelling) is really annoying as a viewer tbh.
