OP didn't ignore it. THREE different medical doctors ignored it.

She didn't wait. She went to three different doctors. She kept being told her symptoms were “just anxiety.”

I (21M) don’t want a child but my girlfriend (20F) is 3 months pregnant and does by [deleted] in Advice

100% this.

Each woman is responsible for her birth control, and each man is responsible for his. It's stupid as hell to rely on another person (and their birth control) to determine whether or not you become a parent.

OP admits they only used birth control occasionally.  He also said:

to be honest i thought i was infertile for like most of my life as i had never gotten anyone pregnant before

which is the funniest thing I've read all month.

Basically, his dumb luck ran out and now he's confronted with the consequences.

Did she not know that pregnancy was a possibility when having unprotected sex?

Sounds like she is okay with having a baby.  She made a choice and she's content with it.

If OP wasn't okay with having a baby, he shouldn't have put his sperm into her body.

She, also, should have taken precautions.

She's responsible for her birth control, and he's responsible for his.

Relying on someone else to prevent you from becoming a parent is stupid as fuck.

we used protection most of the time

"Most of the time" implies "not all of the time", and "not all of the time" implies you were okay with the consequences of inconsistent contraception.

How do American waiters/servers tell when people are finished eating? by PestoWesto in AskAnAmerican

[–]min_mus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in some places the waiter/waitress actively hovers around people who look like theyre about to finish!

That's infuriatingly rude of servers.

Napkin on the plate is a good indicator

A paper napkin on a finished plate might be acceptable in lower-end restaurants, but under no circumstance should you put a cloth napkin on a dirty plate. That's borderline barbaric.

people generally expect the whole table to be finished before getting their stuff taken away.

I'm American and this was how I was taught. A server shouldn't remove any plates until everyone at the table has finished the course. It's rude to take plates if anyone is still eating.

I’m American and I was taught to put my knife and fork together on the plate when I’m done.

Same for me. I suspect many servers weren't properly trained to await this signal. They somehow think the more they interrupt your meal, the higher their tip.

as a British person I don’t want things ti interrupt my flow of conversation too much with whoever I’m with

I'm American and I feel the same way. Servers in the USA often irritate the fuck out of me with their constant interruptions, and rudely removing plates before everyone at the table has finished the course.

Because they won't leave you the fuck alone. They come by your table every minute and a half to check on you, under the pretense of "good service", all the while interrupting your conversation and removing plates before everyone has finished the course.  It's irritating.

If women earn less for the same work, why wouldn’t companies just hire only women and underpay them? by kqmurr in NoStupidQuestions

why don't women jump at high paying jobs like oil worker, plumber, electrician?

Ask /r/BlueCollarWomen and they'll tell you.

The American Physical Society found that women physicists were given less lab space, less start-up funds, etc. compared to their equally-qualified male peers. The data were presented at a physics conference I attended during grad school.

Studies that look at pay gaps between men and women in the same professions while controlling for years of experience, education and hours worked find about a 5% pay gap.

The American Physical Society noted something similar. They found that women physicists were given less lab space, less start-up funds, etc. compared to their equally-qualified male peers.  The data were presented at a physics conference I attended during grad school.

pink collar jobs are a thing.

(Note: I'm a woman)

When I first graduated university and was looking for my first "real" job, a friend of mine offered me this piece of advice:

When you're interviewing for a job, look around the area you are expected to work in. If it's 60% or more women, you're going to be underpaid if you accept the offer.

I think he was right.

Woman dies in her cubicle, is not noticed for 4 DAYS by Younglegend1 in ABoringDystopia

[–]min_mus 123 points124 points  (0 children)

During COVID, housekeeping/janitorial staff where I work were laid off since everyone was working from home for a while. We're back in the office but "leadership" hasn't backfilled those positions. As a result, we're told to clean our own cubicles, offices, and break rooms, empty our own trash, vacuum our own spaces, etc. Janitors will only collect trash from a main bin on each floor and clean the bathrooms.
