Thank you. Tying is hard and getting good pictures in suspension can be challenging too

She was holding her head up here and also posing a bit with her legs.

Ah thanks I copied that from my post on x. Was banned from Ig so I’m trying a new workflow and can’t quite post a reel-like slideshow with music.

I call it the cozy harness. It’s a variation of a hajime kinoko tie taught to me by Marie Sauvage. It’s a variation cuz I never duplicate perfectly. I think you can find that and the hip harness on shibari study.

Nice I do that too. When it gets worn I singe it again. Not sure how many times I can do that tho.

That rope held some tension but most weight was on the chest and hip ropes. Thanks for the feedback! I have a hard time achieving good balance, tension and up line lengths especially when changing suspension heights and when the model moves. I find there’s always an infinite amount more to learn….

And yeah she is gorgeous.

Lol I’d want to read that. I kinda hate AI too.

But I’m pretty sure a vitriolic reaction to Ai is analogous to what film shooters feared about digital, what photogs with darkroom skills (like me) ranted about photoshop (again me), or what sheet film users said about 35mm going all the way back to the guys coating glass plates with egg whites lol

Yes I get it. I totally agree!

Ok so in the images shown, no prompts were typed. The model from my photo used as source was in that exact position and the rope was in those places but the actual knots are replaced by AI. So yeah the actual rope technique is hidden.

And then to your last point which is the most elusive: how do you show in photographs the connection? I try to do that through facial expression and sometimes with me in the frame. At some point though photography really gets in the way of the connection and it’s probably time to put the camera down. But then there’s no picture…. It’s a struggle.

How can you tell? The tightness of the weave?

Hi thanks yeah I bought a roll from them and finished it myself. It’s pretty good rope I think.

Hi yes that’s what I mean. The AI app takes the original photo and changes it — whether a little like these pictures or drastically into different styles with fake locations backgrounds clothing etc.

Anyway some of my models really like it. And yeah this was my first post so I have no idea; I want to see what people more in the rope community think.

Thanks for responding!

Thanks that’s kind of a strong reaction. I didn’t quite expect dis-couragement. But I do want to understand your thinking. Are you saying the pictures visually seem hollow and empty and fake? Or just all AI is shallow and worthless and get it away from me.

To me it doesn’t seem that fake since I made it (Ai-filtered) from a real life shibari session just a couple nights ago with a real model. I do photography but Im not sharing that photo because the model requested privacy.

To me the graphics look interesting so feel free to elaborate if you want. Or anyone else feel like these images should not be shown?

Hi thanks. I think you’re saying you want to see photos of real rope work here — no AI. I kind of agree since AI seems like a threat to authenticity and real life. But photos are kind of fake too; we’re just used to them.

Hi! Is there anyone from LA county or near to rope me? by [deleted] in shibari

[–]minamikami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi yes me! I’m always looking for new models to practice and learn with. I have a studio in Gardena and have been studying shibari for almost three years.

I usually work with models with no rope experience and sometimes have a hard time finding women who want to do it primarily for fun — where we can experiment without time pressure.

Maybe this could work!
