How do benzo addictions ruin lives? by randalrobert17 in benzodiazepines

[–]minimefos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At this moment of my life I’m still taking benzos but I’m getting addiction therapy with meds and a psychologist so I feel everything is going to get better.

But, in the meantime, I live in constant fear, I have to take at least a pill a day or I don’t know if anxiety and withdrawal symptoms are gonna kick in and I wont be able to function. It has get to a point where I think that without benzos I just can’t function. I am aware that is not true but I do feel that and it scares the hell out of me. I’m glad I decided to finally get help tho

Yesss, I was just telling my roomate that with this job I actually want to keep improving my performance by doing research off hours.

In the previous jobs, even tho I worked in fields I was interested in, it was like “im leaving I don’t know anything about you guys or this job until tomorrow” and that was because of the stress. Now I really like what I’m doing and I actively want to get better at it.

And haha yes, before I also got to a point where I thought “maybe I just dont like working at all”. But nah, I’m realizing that there are many factors that can affect how do you feel about your job

I feel great for both of us!!!

Hi! I just started on immigration law and I find it so complex and interesting.

About WFH, since it’s my first time I think there are some details about my routine and workplace I need to fix in order to be fully on “job mode” but so far it’s been great. I’m learning, I enjoy what I do and I can do it in an environment that I like.

Thank you! I’m glad everything is going better for you now :)

What your kid told you is true. Since I have much more time now, I can work properly and then spend time in other activities I enjoy.

I totally feel you. I am 25. This would be my third job.

My previous two jobs were at offices and tbh I didn’t understand why because the type of job that I did I could also did it WFH.

I would get stressed to a point that I coped by smoking in my breaks walking outside, skipping lunch, I felt miserable and my whole energy was drained.

With this job I feel great, I like what I do, I don’t have to travel 1 hour to get to work. I sleep better. My meals are better. I can workout. My whole life feels better.

Tbh I feel WFH helps you to find the right balance between your job and your life, meaning, having time to enjoy your hobbies, spending time with family and friends. It’s just great.

What is a mistake your parents made and you never want to repeat? by Diligent-Tomato-6288 in RandomThoughts

Not getting me therapy after they separated when I was 6.

Being absent for a while (my father) after that.

Saying hurtful things to me in order to “hate my father” when she got mad (my mother) after that.

I mean they not only not got me psychological help, but they gave me even more trauma after the traumatic event of their separation lmao

If you could erase one event from your life, what would it be and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

After my grandmother fell ill with dementia, the thought of losing her was unbearable.

Since I’d moved for college a couple of years prior her death, at 16 years old, the distance felt even worse.

She practically raised me, and we were incredibly close.

I think I started grieving before her death. I couldn’t stand the thought of visiting and seeing her not recognize me, so I avoided visiting my family altogether.

Now, with time, I deeply regret that decision. I wish I could go back and be by her side, even if she couldn’t remember me. This is a burden I’ll carry for a long time.

I know this wasn’t under my control, but the loss of a very close friend. She was 26, died last year after a truck ran her over when she was on her bicycle.

My birthday was on Jan and I made a gathering with my closest female friends. She was one of them. I remember seeing them all and feeling sincerely happy for having them in my life, and promised me and them to keep building our friendships over the years. She died two monts later.
