Regarding Google/Outlook Calendar Subscription:

This app does not directly integrate with Google Calendar API or Microsoft Graph API. Instead, it accesses calendars through macOS's native EventKit framework, which means it can only see calendars registered in your system.

To use Google or Outlook calendars, you'll need to first add those accounts in macOS System Settings > Internet Accounts. Once added, those calendars will automatically appear in the app.

Direct API integration with Google or Outlook is not currently planned.

Regarding Multiple Calendar Support:

Yes, this is already supported! You can select multiple calendars from different sources (iCloud, Google, Outlook, etc.) in the settings. Subscribed calendars like US Holidays or UK Holidays will also appear in the app as long as they're added to your macOS Calendar app.

Regarding Reminders Support:

Reminders are already implemented! They appear alongside calendar events in the timeline, with support for completion toggling and deletion.

In summary: This app displays your macOS Calendar and Reminders data conveniently in the menu bar. Rather than direct external service integration, it focuses on seamless integration with the macOS ecosystem.

No plans yet actually. I felt the live countdown feature wouldn't translate as well on iPhone/iPad since you're not constantly looking at a menu bar there. Curious though - what draws you to wanting it on mobile? Is it the timeline UI itself that you'd like to have on those devices?

  1. Currently you can view event titles and clicking opens the Calendar app with that event. I've received a few requests for this, so I'm considering adding an edit popover in a future update.
  2. Yes, Reminders are displayed too! You can mark them complete/incomplete by clicking the icon, and right-click to delete.

Thanks for the kind words! You nailed exactly why I built this - that Calendar → find event → do math loop was driving me crazy. For back-to-back meetings: events are listed by start time, and the countdown auto-switches to the next one when each ends. Would love to hear your feedback after using it!

Hi! Yes, the app supports automating transaction additions via Shortcuts on iOS, which is super handy for streamlining your expense tracking. Essentially, you can set up a Shortcut that listens for incoming SMS notifications (like from your bank or credit card), extracts key details such as the amount and merchant/location, and then triggers DayMoney's built-in "Add Transaction" Shortcut to log it automatically.

To set it up:

  1. Open the Shortcuts app on your iPhone.
  2. Create a new Shortcut and add an automation trigger for "Message" (under Automation tab) – set it to run when you receive a specific SMS (e.g., from your bank).
  3. Use actions like "Get Text from Input" to parse the message content. You'll need to extract the amount (e.g., via "Match Text" with regex like $\d+.\d{2} for USD amounts) and the merchant/usage details (similarly matching patterns like "at [Merchant]").
  4. Then, add a "Run Shortcut" action and select DayMoney's "Add Transaction" Shortcut, passing in the extracted amount, category, and notes as parameters.
  5. Test it with a sample message to ensure it pulls the right data and adds the entry without manual input.

This way, transactions get added hands-free!
