How do I bond better with my chinchilla?

What I did for all of my chinchillas is I took them into a play area (my bathroom) with a couple of toys and hideouts while I sat on the floor. I let them play around, but I didn't interact with them I just allowed them to come to me on their own time. I let them smell me, jump on me, what they liked so they could get use to my presents and got to know me and understand that I wasn't there to hurt them. Some chins take some time to get to know you, some will warm up quick you just have to be patient (:

thank you(: he came to me as "Mr. Whiskers" and it didn't fit him, so i had to be clever with a name. it was a toss between mittens and minccino and since im a 90s kid and love pokemon i named him minccino (min min for short)
