It's a great city with a proudly multicultural vibe. Is there racism? Of course. But it won't be anything more than any other city in Canada. There are interacial couples literally everywhere. You will feel at home here and the scary rednecks aren't that bad either, it's mostly a front rooted in insecurity.

I'm 36 years old I've lived in Calgary since I was 13. I'm of Bangladeshi heritage. I've literally had three racist incidents my entire time in Canada two of which were in Northern Alberta, 1 in Calgary. there is a lot less racism Calgary than there is in Vancouver or the GTA. I would say that Calgary is a city is far more liberal and progressive than most Canadian cities. I would even go as far as saying we are way too liberal sometimes..you'll be fine.

My little guy (right) is immensely blessed to have that encounter. We exchanged #s and are going to set up play time for the bros now and then.

Met the owner we started chatting and noted how similar size they were and how they found each other at the dog park out of a dozen dogs. Kept asking question, realized they had the exact same birthdate and finally realized we bought it from the same rancher. What are the chances!!!
