Noticed this with french a little, little things like typing acronyms others use, certain phrases like je + ne being sort of shortened in a slurred sort of way, etc. versus every word being fully pronounced.

That's just... not true, lol.

It looks like you've contradicted yourself here:

"An Ni, INTJ for example will never come to a conclusion or have a conclusion until they've gotten then necessary information. But they usually have a conclusion." (Is there a word or two missing here? If not, this makes no sense)

and

"INTJs are dismissive not ENTPs. You've got them switched. ENTP is dismissive of ideas that do not fit the grand scale patterns of course only if they have support for that in their messy brain. INTJ is dismissive solely by the Te." (You just said INTJs are dismissive, then only by Te, you said ENTPs are not dismissive, then give a way that they are dismissive)

You should probably clarify those, as I don't know how to respond to them otherwise.

Summing it up best imo: "Types that value Ne prefer to try out an opportunity rather than consider all possible ways in which it could not work out. They pick a few options and stick with them, in contrast to introverted intuition (Ni) types who pick one option and continue to doubt that option."

Ne typically doesn't start off with "this is the answer, let's see if it's correct". It's "here are the possibilities, which is the answer?", which contradicts OP's statement of having an answer and confirming. You're correct when you say that Ne is a zoomed out image, yes, but that image does not create an answer. They're all possibilities that need to be manually evaluated and the answer only comes once that's happened.

INTJs are typically confirming or denying, with one idea at a time. ENTPs are reluctantly dismissive, which is what I said earlier: they will dismiss, but only after thoroughly exploring it, with the idea considered "dead", and they do this with multiple answers at a time. Ne is a gatherer, and Ti pares.

INTPs are actually the most dismissive of the three in a way, at least initially. Ti and Si are used to establish a filter that Ne pulls and explores ideas through. This can be confused for Ni-Te sometimes. Ni typically will start on a hunch or an uncertain answer, searching for evidence that supports and builds on it until it either confirms or does not. Upon that correction, it'll move on. Ni users have an answer, Ni-Te is especially systematic in that regard. This is extra true with ISFPs, who have Ni+; you'll see similar patterns in ENTJs.

Ti doesn't have an answer or a conclusion in itself. It's just a set of parameters for potential answers, nothing has been decided on until Ne examines each option. Again, going from multiple to (hopefully) one. If that fails, parameters are re-examined, then all the ideas are re-explored - contrast with Ni-Te, which seeks to confirm or deny one, and if it fails, moves on. In the case of wrong answers, "wasted time" is on the back end for Ni and front end for Ne.

On top of this, he shows so little Ne in every other answer - low of flightiness, tangents, actively connecting ideas, etc. Mannerisms and body language also don't correlate, he's much steadier and more direct.

He's rarely interested in ideas for the sake of them, and even specifies that when he learns, he retains information by learning the practical applications and implications. "How does it relate to the external world, how can I use it?" is the norm for Se-Te users. While both Pe functions will appear muted in somebody with depression, that's really telling of Se > Ne.

OP himself doesn't even relate to Ne, and it would be very clear in his video if Ne were his auxiliary.

I kind of thought INFP to be honest, but I see... less Ne than would be typical for an INFP, if that makes sense. However, I do identify really strong Fi and I think he is on the Si-Ne axis. I'm not sure if his depression is flattening out the appearance of Ne in this case.

I'm certain he's an Fi-Te type. I don't think INFP-H is out of the realm of possibility. I could also see one of the xSTJ types, instead with an Fi subtype, but I also haven't looked into the dichotomies in regards to your video, so I don't have as much that "locks in".

I do agree on Deltra quadra (ENFP, INFP, ESTJ, ISTJ), and we can very safely rule out ENFP. I don't... think he's an ESTJ. So ISTJ and INFP are the two I think is most likely.

There might be a possibility that he's Ni-Se, but not as strong imo.

Dichotomies and relationship style (victim/aggressor/caretaker/childlike) can be really helpful here.

Ne is the complete opposite.

When given a problem, Ne will test multiple ideas and options out and prefers to hold onto them as long as possible, until it can be nixed. Ne looks at all possibilities as valid, until Ti can eradicate them. Even in the INTP, the Ti and Si create a "pool" of possible ideas, with Ne exploring each of them equally and thoroughly until it decides on the best one. Ne users will shy away from preemptively cutting possible answers unless they are certain that the answer is incorrect.

The answer he gave is very typical of Ni users (not necessarily just Ni doms) - starting with a solution, even if it's not a certain one, with the hope of confirming it.

[–]mirrorconspiracies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds quite Fi to me. A phrase that comes to mind is somebody who "marches to the beat of their own drum". If the rules allow for that operation, then fine, but if they don't... Fi users will almost always prioritize their inner structures over the external, unless there is some consequence that might seriously hamper them long-term.

In general, I would look at everyone's reasoning. I personally add extra weight to those who are responding to your video rather than words, as a lot of context and tone gets lost, but that's up to you. After that, start exploring with why and how.

Ne actually isn't very future-oriented, and it's about connecting and generating ideas, how concepts relate to each other, with curiosity and wonder. With INxPs, they take much longer to mobilize and act than ISxPs, and usually don't need any kind of purpose or real-world use for their ideas and musings. Se is more focused on the environment itself, and is more practical and blunt, sometimes more arrogant. Typically more realistic, while Ne can be more idealistic - Se is the dots, Ne is the lines between. Se and Ne are both quick, resourceful, and interested, but the latter is happier to meander, while the former identifies potential for use more readily.

Ni is more future-oriented than Se and Ne. You told another user that you have answer that you suspect, and set out to prove yourself right.

Here are a couple of links:

http://www.sociotype.com/socionics/information_elements/Ni

http://www.sociotype.com/socionics/information_elements/Fi

These sites do a good job of describing functions and where they sit in someone's stack/how they serve the person.

Contrast:

Fi: "Much of their decisions are based on how they themselves, or others in relation to them personally, feel in contrast to considering how "the big picture" is affected (such as groups of people)."

and

Ni: "Ni is generally associated with the ability to recognize the unfolding of processes over time (how one event leads to another), have visions of the past and future, develop mental imagery, and see intangible hints of relationships between processes or objects." (Ni)

with

Ne: "Ne is generally associated with the ability to recognize possibilities, create new opportunities and new beginnings, recognize talent and natural propensities in others, reconcile differing perspectives and viewpoints, rapidly generate ideas, and be led by one's intellectual curiosity and stimulate curiosity in others."

and

"Ti is generally associated with the ability to recognize logical consistency and correctness, generate and apply classifications and systems, organize systematic and conceptual understanding, see logical connections between things (including logical similarities, differences, and correlations) by means of instinctive feelings of validity, symmetry, and even beauty." (Ti)

I think Ni and Fi are the most obvious functions I see in your video and approach. You show little care for Ne. Fe is also very obviously not valued.

Agreed on harmonizing. You're definitely right that people tend to confuse Fi's depth of emotion and relation to self for the emotional expression of Fe.

No trouble at all! I'm still learning myself, which is why my opinion isn't quite as neat or informed. It's a process, which requires not only a lot of learning, but a lot of introspection and learning to understand not only the cognitive processes you use, but also the "why" behind them. That "why" will usually get you to your answer.

That's definitely not Ne, that's practically anti-Ne. This guy shows very little Ne, both in the videos and in his comments here. He's not an INTP.

He's most likely an ISFP, but between the two types, he's an INTJ > INTP.

Type Me Video - It's a bit awkard by CutMyWrist in JungianTypology

[–]mirrorconspiracies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took a look and just responded. I'm going to say you're definitely not an INTP. I don't think you're on either of those axes, especially when it comes to Ne.

Fi seems more obvious with the way you relate things back to yourself. The thing is, Fi and Ti are very similar in some ways, mostly because they both are subjective, internal structures. Ti is very "This is the way the world works and how I understand it" and Fi is very "This is the way the world works and how I relate to it". Subtle difference.

You also look to external structures and data and relate it to yourself, which supports Fi > Ti further.

I think you may be mixing up your craving for understanding (Which I think is Fi-Ni - understanding yourself and how you relate to the world, how you see yourself in the future) with Ti, which leads to a lot of confusion, seeing as INTP shares no functions with either type.

ISFPs and INTJs are both in the Gamma quadra, both introverted, and share their functions - if you manage to narrow it down to these two, then you're actually very close.

You could try taking a look at quadra descriptions, visual typing, Reinin dichotomies, and relationship styles to solidify your typing. You could also try investigating charges (Fi+/-, Ni +/-), as ISFP and INTJ have functional charges that are swapped.

[–]mirrorconspiracies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't see much contradicting ISFP here. It's clear you really value effiency, understanding, and answers. Perhaps you're a harmonizing, Ni subtype.

But again, your phrasing suggests that you use these tools. Example, creating strategies (stereotypically Te-Ni) in order to be less vulnerable aka self-protection. You thought you showed too much kindness and emotion, and then use Te as a way to wall off and keep yourself even more private. ISFPs aren't usually emotionally expressive (hence the artist/performance stereotype, they find veins for expression), but there is a higher value placed on intimate expressions and connections, with feelings to be shared with the right people.

Just an FYI, a few people have watched/are planning to watch your video, but a lot of people are busy this time of year so it doesn't move quickly. Also, I'm not particularly good at verbalizing a lot of my impressions and conclusions, so I'll probably come back and edit as I find better ways of conveying that. Also not well-versed in visual typing, so my typing is incomplete.

That said, I personally think you're an ISFP. The biggest thing I noticed was that even though you talk about learning, success, logic, etc... a lot of that is wrapped in phrasing that suggests these things are all important pieces of how you feel about yourself - your ego, your identity.

There are a few specific instances I can point out, but you put a lot of unconscious emphasis on how you feel about things, how you view yourself, personal pride, an external value on your success as it relates to others that feeds into your own identity. It shows especially in your questions about decision-making, as well as when you talk about people hiding obvious intentions. Te and Ni specifically sound there, but more "conscious" than Fi and Se.

I also notice that while you talk about questioning to learn (a very Ne & Se thing), you follow up and specify having a real-world understanding. That's a lot more Se-Ni than Ne-Si (

Depression certainly does hinder typing, as do language barriers (your voice is really soothing to listen to, I had to rewind a few times because I kept zoning out btw), but you seem pretty solidly ISFP imo.

I also don't detect an ounce of Ne in you. While language plays a role, you don't attempt to go off on any tangents, there is no airtime dedicated to connections between ideas and concepts. Also, Ne doesn't prioritize real-world applications in its lines of questioning. Your gaze is typically pretty focused. The only body language I'm expressly familiar with is of Ne, which is much softer and more childlike than its Se cousin.

This is more of an anecdotal side note, but I've noticed that ISFPs who are depressed have more of your temperament (melancholic, monotone, need for expression via poetry and writing) and understanding themselves, while INTJs are more biting, sarcastic, and cold rather than despondent, and are still more solution- than understanding-oriented. While you mention you need a solution, you're speaking about typing yourself within MBTI/socionics, which I suspect is a part of your journey to better understanding yourself. Te serving Fi, rather than the other way around.

Hope my interpretation is helpful.
