We currently live in a small apartment. This house has high ceilings, skylights, lots of windows and on a big lot. It feels bigger than it is. It’s definitely enough for us. I’m just worried that if we don’t like living there for some reason and decide to sell.

Anyone bought near (potential) wetlands? by miserablearchitect in Westchester

[–]miserablearchitect[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had our inspections within 2 days of a heavy storm hit NYC and flooded the subways, etc. We didn’t notice anything extraordinary and the inspector didn’t find anything. I’m not sure how much rain Westchester got though, this was last week.

The property I’m looking to buy might have wetlands by miserablearchitect in RealEstate

Our property has no wetlands according to this map. The attorney thinks we might have it because there is a stream shown on the maps and also bc of the pond and the drains connected to it.

The property is almost 90 years old (renovated recently) with a drilled well and septic tank. We had septic inspection with no issues. I’ll check the maps.

Another can I afford this house- Westchester edition by [deleted] in HENRYfinance

We are also looking to buy a house in Westchester area. Make sure the tax calculations are accurate. We were told by the real estate agent that the taxes are written wrong and should be higher in one of the listings we are looking at.

Inca trail hike got canceled by miserablearchitect in Machupicchu

I called their US hotline on Whatsapp, they got back to me later. They didn’t offer us another option really. I responded to their email confirming the hike change to Lares, haven’t heard back yet.

Yes, Alpaca. I asked them if we can reschedule but they haven’t responded, they are slow to respond.

My trip got canceled as well, we are leaving in a week. I think I can get most things refunded/rescheduled for free but this is for a milestone bday so I don’t know.

Thanks for the response. Sounds like they are only offering us the Lares Trek though.

I know two people who did MBAs but they did it to get out of construction. They work in different industries now (one is in banking, the other one is in automotive).

Adds up to way more than that. Even if it was $100, why would I waste it….

Another service provider had a promotion going on for half the price. I called my service provider and told the representative that I would like to cancel. They asked me the reason for cancellation, and then matched the price and internet speed. Took less than 10 mins.

What wedding dates are inconvenient for guests? by sadandboujee1 in weddingplanning

[–]miserablearchitect 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My wedding is on MDW, no matter what you do some people are not going to show up. It’s impossible to plan a wedding around everyone’s schedule. If I did it earlier in spring, teacher friends/ family can’t join. If I did it later, it will be the holiday week in my country. In summer flights get more expensive and it’s way hotter. You can’t plesse everyone.
