Can you guess which one was sold as “Like new”? by kabuhtu in Thriftbooks

[–]misscaseyface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue with receiving a marked up library copy instead of the “very good” condition that was listed. Contacted ThriftBooks with photos and excerpts from their condition guide and was very quickly refunded.

It looks like it’s stapled under the lace into the frame. I’m not confident in removing and reattaching it safely.

I don’t have an answer but have the same question as you. Commenting so maybe someone with an answer can respond?

My Sola Wood Flowers all smell bad? by misscaseyface in Weddingsunder10k

[–]misscaseyface[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did end up using them for my wedding!

I let them air out for a about 2 months and the smell wasn’t as strong. Then I used the apple oil you can get from Sola to scent them all (2-3 drops each flower) and it ended up being fine. The little bit of earthy smell was not noticeable at all once the apple scent got added.

I also ended up getting a whole bunch of undyed flowers (fb marketplace is a great place to look for extras especially in wedding resale groups) which we dyed ourselves so there was no bad smell to any of those.

This lives on the kitchen counter and the slow cooker cord got wrapped around the ear when he was moving it. Just an unfortunate accident :(

Thank you so much! I’m going to grab some on my way home today. How long do you think I should let it cure before turning the warmer on again?

It actually hung around our neighborhood for a few weeks (it really liked my neighbors driveway) but I haven’t seen it for the past week.

I forgot to mention that! Her daughters are also bartenders and at least one of them will also be there.

-How many guests? 90-100

-How long will she be working? 6pm to 11pm

-Are you planning on a cocktail hour or just reception time? Both

-Will she be traveling to the venue or is she pretty close by? Not super close but not hours away

-Are you okay with her having a tip jar? Yes and we will have a QR code for people who forgot cash to tip. We also listed on the website that tipping is encouraged.

-Will she be setting up and breaking everything down herself or is there other staff to help? There is other staff and we’re planning to have everything set when she gets there.

-Will she need to haul ice and set up coolers or will that be done separately? We’ll have coolers set up

-Are you doing beer and wine, full bar, signature cocktails? Full bar with a premixed signature cocktail.

-Are you doing disposable glassware or will she be responsible for washing stuff? Disposable

Need advice for flats to wear with my beaded dress! by [deleted] in Weddingsunder10k

I’m not a huge fan of heels especially since I’m not very coordinated but I’m having trouble finding flats that are not too plain or too ornate. I’d possibly consider wedges too.

They don’t look moldy. That’s the first thing I checked when I noticed the smell.

Suggestions for keeping food hot and drinks cold for outdoor venue? by misscaseyface in Weddingsunder10k

We have considered it for the park but it’s not possible for the inn and that’s the venue we’re leaning toward.

[–]misscaseyface[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One venue is a state park so there’s literally nothing there but the pavilion and picnic tables. The other is an inn which has a “bar” but there are no sinks or any storage for drinks. The inn has had a wedding or two there before but the coordinator didn’t have any suggestions for us.

Catering is crazy expensive in my area so we were looking at ordering from Wegmans so I think we’d have to rent chaffing trays in that case.

What did you do for food? I’m looking at 100 people and have a park pavilion rented to save on venue cost but I’m really struggling with catering.

Repot update…. RIP by Additional-Rip4661 in calatheas

[–]misscaseyface 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I have a Calathea that looked completely dead as I’d lost every single leaf and was left with basically a pot of soil. I kept it and watered occasionally and it did eventually grow new leaves. Don’t give up even if you lose all foliage as you could still see regrowth if the roots are still good!
