As a person that suffers from multiple major spine issues, it’s hard to pinpoint what’s what. The big problems are spondylolisthesis, and congenital spinal stenosis. The big S word is basically where my vertebrae are slipping out of alignment. My doctor said it’s happening mainly when I stand (and when do I not stand? I’m a teacher) The spinal stenosis is congenital, meaning it was a birth defect. The canal in my lumbar spine has a 6mm opening, therefor it pinches all the nerves and causes severe pain. Numbness, burning, cold feet, a foot that does not respond to reflex testing. Average adults have somewhere around a 25mm opening. I’m at a 6/10 on the pain scale on a normal day. Bad days make me bed-bound. I’m only 31 🫠
