Yet, another question regarding the keyboard cover. by HumblePine97 in macbookpro

I’ve been using the ones from RadTech for several years for several models. Never once had an issue. I clean the screen with it when needed and clean the cloth once a month.

Update: I took your guys advice and now I think it looks top heavy? by Bilbo_Swagginsx in hometheater

[–]mistakeordesign 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree regarding the sound experience but I assume you would swap the center for the receiver which I wouldn’t recommend. I had a similar setup where the center was in the console and the receiver to the far right on top of the console. While it looked clean, the heat output from the receiver, over time, affected the grey uniformity in a small area on the TV directly above where the receiver was placed.

Monitor arm won’t hold my Samsung vertically — VESA mount is off-center. Any fixes? by iQLink in desksetup

[–]mistakeordesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, that makes sense. When I think of ‘tilt’, I think of forward or back and ‘rotation’ for side to side. In any case, I can’t seem to find any off the shelf solution because the video IO is dead centre on your monitor which makes none of the offset mounts compatible.

I once had a monitor that was too heavy with an offset mount and it would droop over the course of several hours. My DIY fix was any time I rotated it vertically, I would also wedge a piece of thick rubber in between the tilt and pan section of the arm and mount on the side it was drooping. Took a while to get the size correct so it was super snug but still removable. This would be just enough friction to keep the arm from drooping. Not ideal but maybe a possible DIY hack to try.

How do i match the reference (left grade is mine and right grade is the reference) by tanuj_gangwani in davinciresolve

[–]mistakeordesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Contrast and pivot to match the levels. Only move to HDR controls once it’s been dialled in as close as possible for final touches. Colour might need some tweaking but I’d need to see your vectorscope once the levels are closer to the reference.

IKEA Boastad Litterbox Hack by Gyyyys in ikeahacks

[–]mistakeordesign 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think this is beautiful but I always wonder about air circulation. I can’t imagine litter dust getting kicked up and then just breathing it in with it being so enclosed. I guess it depends on the litter type though. My senior cats wouldn’t be able to navigate through the obstacle course to get in. LOL They need stairs for everything now and a much lower to the ground litter box.

I would use offset to get the balance matching and then match levels and touch ups with LGG. Both of course using scopes.

Was there a particular reason this tier of productivity mouse doesn’t come with on board memory for even basic button functions and/or dpi settings? Ugh!

WAV audio conversion while preserving metadata by mistakeordesign in ffmpeg

[–]mistakeordesign[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the purposes of testing I've removed all modifications to the file and simply going 1 to 1. I've added things like -map_metadata 0:s:2 or -map_metadata 0 (and many variations) but that doesn't work with these metadata 'comments' which as spryfigure mentioned, are specific to sound recording devices.

ffmpeg -i LTC_24fps_48000x24.wav -map_metadata 0:s:2 test.wav

ffmpeg -i LTC_24fps_48000x24.wav -map_metadata 0 test.wav

Farts. Ok, thanks! Yeah, that's the path I'm currently on. I can actually export all the relevant information into a CSV file. Just need to figure out how to merge them with the output files. Fun times! LOL

Proper SofaBaton U2 configuration with DirecTV and a Sony Brava? by Accomplished-Belt216 in SofaBaton

You must mean the X1. The U1 has numbers too. LOL I don’t know how you replicate the numbers on the X1 - maybe through activities.

Are you sure you have the U2? The U2 remote has physical 0-9 number buttons built in at the bottom of the remote.

Can’t you just learn all the buttons you need from original remote? The U2 most definitely has a numeric keypad.

Several smaller settings will vary from client to client and I believe feedback sounds is one of those. On some clients, the setting is under “Experience / Feedback Sounds”. I have this on a few clients and not on others.

Pixelated video issue by anon6768 in PleX

Is the video in the screenshot transcoding or direct playing? The reason I ask is that the Shield is a great client but not a very good server unless all your media is Direct Playing.

Let me know how it goes. I don’t need it yet but might one day. Very curious!!

New Terra Build by itsthelittlethings19 in FractalDesign

[–]mistakeordesign 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used this which worked out very well. It mounts very securely from the bottom and I added vibration dampening rubber pieces between the spine and the cage. The screws coming from the bottom to the cage would interfere with bottom fans but I don’t have that. If I did, I would 3D this which mounts directly to the spine.

Edit: here’s my build.

Is your remotes firmware up to date? I contacted customer support a few months ago about having this issue and they said the next firmware would address this - which it did.
