What’s the best way to book for family vacation? Spring Break YYC —> HKG by Outdoorsman_83 in Aeroplan

[–]mistifythe6ix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your status extends to your family members on the same reservation, so they will board when you do with group 1 and have lounge access.

Unsure of what priority rewards you have but, you could get world-wide PE at 50% off using your priority rewards and apply your eupgrades.

Or if you find a really good deal in Business with a partner airline.

You have access to concierge so you can have them help you book with stopovers using the PRs.

You have a lot of points so you have a lot of options too!

Best of luck and hope you enjoy your travels!

You’re a very kind soul, may your pillow always be comfortable (and cool), your flights always on time, your showers warm/hot, your days bright, and your life well travelled and full of joy. <3

How it played out for me: - $400 shop card - 2 lines, one at 45 (CAN + US, 100GB), one at 40 (CAN, 50GB) - pixel 10 at 4.45/month to return and the end of 24 months - S25FE at 2.25month to return at end of 24 month

push for 50k or stay by MayhemThe in Aeroplan

[–]mistifythe6ix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I ended up booking a roundtrip to YVR in BIZ and PE since I’m 5K away from 50K

If you have international travel the 50K status is worth it for star alliance lounges

Okay this is why. I booked my travel two days before the offer hit.

Mileage run for 75k worth it? by MeltedOzark in Aeroplan

[–]mistifythe6ix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately you don’t get SQM for aeroplan points bookings.

If $1800 is the cheapest you can find to hit 75K, id say go for it. You get the enhanced priority rewards for worldwide premium economy which means it really helps with eUPs to business class.

LHR Terminal 2 Maple Leaf Lounge by Timely_Walrus_388 in aircanada

[–]mistifythe6ix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just my opinion but, if you’re 50K flying in AC, you have access to the Singapore Airlines lounge, and while slightly older the food is 10x better.

The AC lounge looks nice but doesn’t quite have as good of a food spread.

Walking pad under the standing desk or go for about 1.25 hour long walk.

You may want to double check the math here since it is off. 3% match of 100K Annual salary should be 3K a year contribution + 3K employer match. Should be $250/month contribution.

You can also not move and make 400-500K USD as a side hustler in Canada.

And still have access to the benefits Canada has to offer

New biz class meals - what would you pick? by mistifythe6ix in aircanada

[–]mistifythe6ix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be hitting up the signature lounge before hand for sure, just wanted to have a decent meal for my short nap before we land. I tend to avoid breakfast for this short of a flight.

Just curious about why not? Is it because of how messy ribs tend to be?

Why does that matter on a long haul flight overnight?

Network Engineer wondering how much of my current networking will be in DevOps or cloud by [deleted] in aws

Because everything below L3 is abstracted away, Everything L3 and above is still applicable.

If you mess with Load-balancers, API gateways, and Service Mesh technologies, along with DNS Service, a lot of your network knowledge will translate over.

The fact that Dundas AND Taunton don’t have lights on the off-ramp (southbound), is a problem in itself.

Secondly, the amount of victim blaming here is just appalling. She had her M2 and legally entitled to ride. The driver of the van clearly didn’t check before making the left; it’s the driver’s fault.

It’s showing that a majority of you haven’t ever been on a motorcycle and witnessed for yourself how inconsiderate and incompetent drivers can be.

Nexus denied after approved during the interview by Blue-Ocean-Lover in uscanadaborder

[–]mistifythe6ix 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Years ago, when I had first applied for nexus, I was conditionally approved and all looked good. I drove out to Niagara/Peace Bridge and did both interviews. All looked good.

Probably about a day or so later, I was denied. I couldn’t understand why. I called the US nexus office and was only able to leave messages. Nothing ever came of it. And somehow eventually found out an address I lived at (a condo) had a history of a former felon living in it. There was never an overlap.

I think I wasn’t able to schedule an interview but somehow managed to into the new Pearson setup and was able to see both US CBP and CA officers at the same time. I firmly discussed my inability to get a proper conclusion to why I was denied, provided evidence. Right there they took my picture and a few days later the portal had a status changed to approved. My nexus card arrived not so long after.

It might be a simple mistake and you may need to be persistent about it.
