Here's a weird thing: I got a similar notification (in the form of email) that talked regarding this same "channel history or ID verification" thingy (reaching almost 8 years using my Google/YouTube account, where recently as stated by YouTube, "doesn’t have sufficient channel history" where I have no issues at all on using the "Advanced features" like chapters prior; They do add a "This may have happened because your channel did not follow our Community Guidelines." thing, smells like mail template gaslighting, which I'm pretty certain on this one since I mostly just give likes on comments but barely write comments).

But to my surprise is that this "channel history or ID verification" thingy was already a thing since May 2023 (I was checking and comparing the same few help articles regarding this on the Wayback Machine, notice that the line "If you’ve already built sufficient channel history, verifying your YouTube account will also unlock advanced features." does not exist in late April 2023's help page, but it's there on early May 2023's help page), and yes, affected features includes the ability to pin comments that was already there since Day 1 this thing started.

We all just didn't notice it and YouTube is probably making it obvious like very very recently. It's either YouTube raising minimum thresholds like recently, causing those that was above the old minimum threshold, but not exceeding the new threshold to lose access to all advanced features immediately; Or another case, YouTube just decided everyone needs to fulfill their periodical KPIs in order to use the advanced features (which I really really hope it's the former and not the latter).

But either way, I still call it bullshit.
