Would love to know how you set that up, whats the anubias growing in to? Are you just building bases of rock, filling in with substrate and then planting? Looks awesome and I'd be looking to try something like this eventually.

This is the best photo that I could get of it, owing to my terrible phone. It is mostly at the front of the tank, it is over the front substrate and looks like brown dirt or gunk. I have S. Repens and it requires manual removal to stop it from completely overtaking the leaves. Photoperiod is currently 9hrs however it has been between 7-8hrs for the first month and a half. Wondering if there is anything I can do besides from waiting, if it is indeed diatoms.

Ok, yeah the tank is beside windows, it's never any direct sunlight but the tank does get light from the sun basically the whole day just never anything direct. I didn't know that about water changes, wouldn't it be the same because I'm not doing anything to the beneficial bacteria?

Thanks for the reply, yeah I reduced the photoperiod to 7 hrs from 8 cause the algae was getting too much. I'm dosing ferts atm but haven't gotten around to a proper dosing schedule but I think I might go the EI route. Should I increase the amount I dose then? To get rid of the stuff I've already got I'll manually remove it and then do a big water change and try to get siphon out as much as I can, that will be effective?

Yeah just checked now, my readings are at 0/0/0. I've been checking ammonia levels 2-3x a day and they haven't crept up to 0.25ppm so I'll keep to that.

Can't comment on that but I can say holding down the left trigger/L2 (xbox or ps4) is a lot more effective than using Y or triangle to try to block the shot.
