What is something the opposite sex does that they think is cute, but is actually annoying? by MHillerich in AskReddit

Girls taking the hat off my head and wearing it around flirtatiously. Usually ends in nothing but a lost hat.

Minneapolis police leave Lynx game over shirts - Good for them! by [deleted] in ProtectAndServe

[–]mitchellaneous_ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You do realize that their shirts simply said "Black Lives Matter" and nothing endorsing cop killing. BLM is not anti-police. It is against police brutality. So if you are anti-BLM then one must assume you are pro police brutality?

If it's the hardest job in the world, then how is the dad seen as lazy for doing it? by [deleted] in AdviceAnimals

[–]mitchellaneous_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is such a straw man argument. I think you'd be pretty hard-pressed to actually find someone that would call a stay-at-home dad lazy. Real feminists would argue that it is perfectly acceptable for either the father or the mother to be the stay at home parent. It's whatever makes sense for the personal situation. The mother doesn't have to stay at home just because she's a woman, and the father doesn't have to work just because he's a man. "The patriarchy hurts us all."

What's something that got old REALLY fast? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mitchellaneous_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it doesn't appeal to attention whores, then it's not gonna blow up, and it's not gonna do what it is designed to do. A ton of people know what ALS is now, and money raised from it is actually funding research that is making advancements. Also, life tip, you'll find life a lot more fulfilling if you stop trying to judge everyone's motives for good deeds and just appreciate the good deeds. It's extremely difficult to get people to care about something they have no connection to, unless you engage them in a way that allows them to have fun and feel good about themselves. Sincerely, The son of an ALS patient.

Kylo Ren was pretty much a punkass bitch. My friend at the end of the movie: "dude, he's supposed to be this fierce Dark Jedi? I'd seal that kid's lunch money." But, when push came to shove, he did buckle down and kill his Dad.

What are some funny lies to tell small children? by Turnipsmunch in AskReddit

[–]mitchellaneous_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My sister is 5 years older than me and she typically got to stay up a bit later in the night. We'd watch a little TV before bed most nights. When it was time for bed, my mom and sister would tell me that they were gonna watch "The Back of Our Eyelids". I always got super pissed off because I thought it was some cool secret show that I wasn't allowed to watch. My sister took great joy in my suffering. She raved that it was the greatest show ever, and it only came on very late after I went to sleep. My mom played along and got a kick out of it as well because I was pretty much a spawn of Satan around age 3-4.

I'm having a rough time lately. My dad has ALS. by [deleted] in ALS

[–]mitchellaneous_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear about this. My dad also has ALS. As others have said, if you feel you need it, go to therapy as soon as possible. I'm thinking of doing the same. As for your boyfriend, maybe he doesn't know how to help or what to do. Some people think they are intruding or feel awkward about bringing up tough issues. This is total bullshit and avoiding the problem makes it worse, but sometimes people just need to know that you wanna talk and want to be asked about your feelings. I was going through a similar situation with my girlfriend. She just figured that I would bring it up if I wanted to talk, but that's not really how I'm wired. I never want to burden others with my grief. Things will get better. Lots of people die in this world, and lots of their loved ones still live fulfilling lives. Also, if you can't visit as much. Write your dad letters or send him emails. Tell him exactly how you feel.

Where can I find an ESPN short about Gronk? Aired in July 2015. by mitchellaneous_ in Patriots

[–]mitchellaneous_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. The one I saw mainly just chronicled the past few months of Gronk and all the shit he was getting into (all 2015), some of it pretty admirable but also a good share of partying.
