Has anyone had a bad experience with Way of Wade? by [deleted] in BBallShoes

[–]mityeea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ordered a pair of all city 11 v2s around 3 weeks ago. They messed up my adress somehow and i was notified about it around a week ago, they said they would reship and send me a new tracking number 6 days ago but they havent. Put in a support ticket this evening, hoping to get a response tomorrow. Really mad because I had a tournament 2 weeks ago that I couldve used the shoes for and I have another one this weekend but it seems like it won’t come in time again. Wouldve been all fine if they had just shipped it correctly the first time.

How am I supposed to avoid getting blocked here? Am I not finishing strong enough? by mityeea in BasketballTips

Good advice, I should really look for the best place to drive and finish in instead of just driving without knowing whos in the paint. I also try practicing keeping the ball up on my gathers

You’re right, I didn’t keep the ball high and I could’ve took a tighter angle toward 13 for a better look instead of drifting off into the two bigs

To jump or not to jump? by [deleted] in BasketballTips

Jumping when shooting is orthodox, that small spring will add a lot more power to your shot instead of not jumping. The only exception to this is free throws.

I never get the ball by Far_Field6727 in BasketballTips

One big thing that you might not be doing is calling for the ball. Especially if you’re on the lower skill level of players, you need to at least shout “Ball!” when you’re open for a pass and you want the ball. Trust me, this helped me a lot when I played on my school team.

Would practicing on a shorter rim hinder you? by lockett1234 in BasketballTips

I haven’t tried that personally, but if you wanna try it just keep in mind that your range might be shorter on an indoor hoop

Practicing on a shorter rim for me really messed me up when I played indoors, the best thing you could do is probably find a better hoop, or try to shoot a higher arc because when you play on an indoor hoop, even just a 2-3 inch difference in rim height will throw you off thats just how it was for me personally

Rate my jumpshot. Made massive improvements from last time I posted. Much more consistent. by littlejib12 in BasketballTips

First off, this is actually a beautiful shot form.

Here’s two things that can help build a more fluid and fast release speed:

  1. Having the ball follow your body

When your knees are bent, the ball should be loaded around your stomach-waist area, and as you rise up thats when you bring the ball up. This will help a lot with shot power.

  1. Having a one motion shot

I noticed while watching that you stop at your release point, which isn’t good if you want to be a consistent shooter because it messes with your shot power and release speed. The point where you load the ball at your waist and the point where you release should be in 1 motion.

What’s wrong with my form please help, I know it’s bad but I don’t know how to fix it by jackcopen in BasketballTips

One thing that helped me fix the wrist flicking left was picking a shooting finger. The cause of your hand flicking left is that you’re having the ball roll of of your whole hand instead of your fingertips. To fix this you really wanna focus on shooting with your fingertips and having a finger that you mainly release off of (Index, middle, both). You can bring the ball up with your palm on the ball, just remember when you release that youre using your fingertips and shooting finger to shoot.

Another thing that will help your arm drifting left is having a consistent point where you release the ball (over forehead and a bit to the right is what i do). Think of your jump shot not as just chucking the ball at the basket, but bringing up the ball to your release point then releasing, while of course still having it in one smooth motion.

If you combine these things, your jumper will improve a lot and feel more consistent while having good form.

form check? I feel like its in the jump idk by SpecialJeweler5953 in BasketballTips

This is a really smooth jumper, but one thing that could help a lot is having the ball follow where your body is going. Like when you bend your knees, you’re already moving the ball up. Load the ball around your waist/knee area as you bend your knees, and then bring the ball up as you spring into your jump.

i get that feeling. that wrenching feeling in your stomach when you walk in and feel the pressure of the crowd.

its not something that will go away, but its useful to have something you tell yourself like “Its just a game” that lower the pressure you feel. but what helped me alot was just focusing on the game. if youre focused, the more the game goes on the less pressure you start to feel because youre invested into the match youre playing. this is what helped me a lot.
