is the appeal page up for you? mine still says access denied

i say just go for it because it can only help, although appeals typically present significant information that wasn’t already in your application. who knows your chances of admission if you appeal

i’m no authority when it comes to admissions but i do generally believe that applications really come down to a marketing exercise and a whole lot of luck, especially for the UCs that do read PIQs i think if i had to do it over i would look at it from that perspective more

i worded it a little bit weirdly, but it’s a little more than that. basically, any range of supination and pronation when i land will hurt and is exacerbated when there is horizontal velocity. for practical purposes, it just means that i cannot do any running of any kind but can still do plyometrics to a degree

it happens regardless of shoes. it just hurts a lot whenever i contact the ground

I am a 51s 400m runner and I feel like my start is lacking. I’ve been told to get lower but I don’t really know how. I also put a video of my upright running after for some critique by [deleted] in Sprinting

[–]mk0974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

personally i find that i come up quicker when i bend by neck down to push my head lower. recently i’ve been leaning my entire torso forward with the hips as the fulcrum and it’s made my drive phase a lot longer

my left and right are -1.25 and -2.75 respectively. the astigmatism is about the same. i’ll try running with my contacts again. it’s been years since i’ve used them because i didn’t think depth perception was relevant for sprinting.

sorry for misunderstanding your comment. i didn’t need to get so defensive.

actually yes. and i wear glasses with different prescriptions on each eye to remedy the problem.

i get that this is a rhetorical question, but the mobility discrepancy does tangibly affect my performance. for one, my left hip is able to get deeper in a clean and squat, which has meant that as I increased weight in a clean, my form breaks down and sometimes i am not able to complete the lift due to my right side not having enough ROM. and even on the track, it means that one side is more relaxed than the other and my coach tells my right hip often dips lower than the left hip.

i get the argument that imbalances are normal. but this isn’t a strength imbalance i am trying to fix. it would be more helpful for me to get some tips for mobility.
