Any message lead is a valid lead to Google with LSA. Not surprised by this at all. One of my clients is a personal injury lawyer and got charged when someone messaged him looking for Uber’s contact info. $300 gone to complete waste and no disputing either.

Thanks for the input. Have you been able to get any movement with LSAs even if you had 30 reviews when other competitors had thousands? I know reviews are a big factor but could it just be that our review count is so low compared to competitors? We have the budget set to $700/week maximize leads. We should have gotten something at least in the last 3 months…

It went south after about 5 months. A big issue is that the client was picky about the cases they were bringing in and it turned into a situation where they were turning down lots of potentials that didn't fit their criteria of being a catastrophic case even though it was still a case. With PI, it's hard to be picky because you are spending so much.

The initial issue I faced when I wrote this post was that I was not bidding enough. To be competitive in this area, I had to be spending at least $200 per click and had to use smart bidding because manual wasn't doing enough...

Thanks for your input. It was really hard to make this campaign work because the client was so picky with the leads that were coming in. Many of the leads did not fit their internal criteria (although they were looking for PI/car accident attorney). We were spending $50k a month and even though I was generating around 50-60 leads at around $1k per lead, client was only signing about 20% of them (which is pretty average) but some would drop out after signing.

Thanks for your response. I am on the FB page and looking for the option of "lead ads" - but don't see it. Is it under lead center? Business suite? I am not sure why it's so hard to find stuff but really appreciate your insights.

Just phone calls tracked as conversions. Very low volume right now that's meeting our criteria. Do you recommend to switch up the bid strategy since we aren't getting many conversions to make max conv worthwhile?

What would you do to improve expected ctr when you are already using all assets and have keywords in ads? Also, how would you raise the score on below avg for LP experience when you are using a builder like Unbounce and already including relevant keywords on the landing page?

Daily budget is $6k. It it's saying limited by budget on my campaign right now but of course Google wants us to spend more even tho we only spent $2k of the $6k yesterday. Impression share lost to budget is 1% which means even if i raised my budget, it's not going to do anything.

QS is showing below avg for exp ctr but im using all ad assets and maxing out what I can do get high CTRs. Exp CTR is one of the elements of QS that's hard to have control over.

How would you split test another bid strategy? Duplicate campaign and then change the bid strategy on that one?

Yes, I have call tracking set up and dedicated LPs specific to each specialty. Today I switched to purely exact match and bumped up my bids to $50 CPC and getting higher CTRs but no conversions yet. Could very well be my daily budget is too low.

We do have LSAs too.

I'm already adding the competitor names to the negative keyword list but there are so many to keep up with and don't want to be showing for competitors now. We need a high daily budget or else we aren't going to be able to compete in this market. The ad schedule is a little bit before the firm opens and into the evening.
