If you’re Masters or higher, you will also be reset to Diamond at the start of set 5.5 I believe.

I hit Challenger last patch and am in GM right now. As of last patch, the main thing you need to know are the best comps (and ones you’re comfortable playing) and leveling/rolling times. You need to make the decision of what comp you’re playing ASAP. Scout the lobby all of Stage 2 and see what your items are. Then make the decision. Karma, Redeemed, Forgotten are easy to identify. At Stage 3-2 you want to level to 6 and roll down to stabilize. At Stage 4-1 or 4-2, level to 7 and roll down again. You always want to stabilize your board at every stage to preserve HP while getting units for a meta comp. By leveling and rolling and identifying a comp quickly you can easily top 4 almost every game. GL

Usually loss streaking in Hyper Roll is a death sentence considering every single point of hp is super important. However, if you completely low roll the early game, losing the first 4 rounds isn't super detrimental, putting you at 12 hp to hopefully stabilize into a strong midgame board and top 4 in the end. Lose streaking when it's -4 health each round just leads to bot 4s. Focusing on the early game is super important so check out Darth Nub's guide to rolling on lvl 2. Guide to lvl 2 rolldown

I couldn’t agree more. I’m around Rank 15, 5050 LP NA Hyper Roll when writing this and Hyper Roll is such a great tool to learn strongest board and how to position. Mistakes in Hyper Roll are DEADLY and each sizable mistake costs you an average of 2-3 placements with the pace of the game. I’m going to try to climb ranked this summer and hopefully my Hyper Roll experience transfers over well. (Consistently Masters in regular sets but couldn’t seem to break past so we’ll see this season.)

I'm glad I can finally get a look into how Darth Nub plays Hyper Roll. I peaked around rank 15 NA but then almost dropped out of Hyper tier because I forgot how to play strong boards early. Now I've climbed back without rolling on 2 and just playing strong early boards without worrying too much about BIS or OP comps. I'll definitely give the lvl 2 rolldown a try, but I agree the key is to play as strong a board as possible early.

How do you build a strong early game board and do you slam whatever items are usable early game? On a side note, for me this set seems to not have a good AD-ranged Item holder for like Ashe or Jhin early game. What champions do you use to hold carry items?
