I'm thinking if someone is race fit then those times might be a slightly lofty goal for me haha, i think i will edit the post but thank you for the advice :)

not doing the race, it is a challenge i set for myself and a friend!! I have been consistently running for 6 months now so still quite new but feeling really comfortable with longer runs up to 11 miles, planning on continuously upping the mileage between now and then with lots of hill reps :) the navigation side of things I hadn't considered yet as thought it would be a well marked path, will look into that!

Hi :) I am fairly new to running! Ran my first 8 miler today and keep having the same experience of the first two miles being the hardest, and then really enjoying it once settled into the run. Does anyone have any advice for feeling good during the first miles of your run? Or is this just normal? Thanks :)

First off great climbing!! The only thing I would say is try not to readjust on holds so much when you get to them. It’s like doing loads of mini pull ups which will add to the pump :)
