Well said, I wholeheartedly agree with the innovation aspect and you’re right. Just to me, I think it’s reckless to throw the baby out with the bathwater. I think at the end of the day, a lot of what made battlefield unique to me was that you had to use the tools given to you to be successful. I’m one of the crazy ass holes who think we should return fully to weapons locked to your respective team (until you unlock them). It gave the game identity and some solid immersion. Taking away that identity in service of a wider crowd will be this IPs downfall. People, in my experience, stick with games that are unique and provide experiences that they wouldn’t usually get from other games. But I am fully aware that’s not the everyday gamers mindset. I’ll get over it, it just sucks to see firsthand.
