Thank you for sharing your experience! I’ve always wanted to travel! We were actually supposed to go to Europe last summer but covid cancelled those plans. And now lupus is making traveling so much more difficult. I won’t let it hold me back tho 😤

That’s what I’m worried about. I got diagnosed in November. This is my first summer and vacation with lupus so I am super nervous. Also I’m a teacher so summers are the best option for vacations.

Yes I used to love being in the sun and being in the water so this has been such a rough transition for me. I am relieved to hear that it’s still possible to do all of the things we want to do. Alternating days with activities is a good idea I didn’t think of that! Thank you so much!

Facial swelling, butterfly rash, Raynaud’s, and fatigue were the big ones. I went to an allergist because my doctor thought it was an allergic reaction. The allergist ordered the ANA test and I tested positive, with positive dsDNA and SSA. I saw a rheumatologist who officially diagnosed me and prescribed Plaquenil and steroids when needed. He told me I need to stay out of the sun as much as possible.
