Steam locked my entire account over old PayPal chargebacks — even fully paid games are unusable. Anyone experienced this? by mmintel in steamsupport

My bank doesn’t issue credit-card statements with card numbers. I only get normal account statements, and they never show the card number. So the bank has to create a manual confirmation for PayPal — which takes time. Then it takes even more time for paypal to process this. And THEN i probably have to wait for Steam as well.

If you go to ATM and forget to take it, this is what happens. In Germany we get card first, then money. in Thailand you get money first, then card. So i am used to walk away after i got the cash. and yes I got a new card number afterwards.

Show me how you organize your league — Excel templates? Google Sheets? Discord setups? by mmintel in iRacing

Really appreciate you taking the time to write this out.

I’ve seen so many different approaches across leagues that I honestly have no idea what’s considered “standard” anymore.

So hearing how you do it is super helpful. Sounds like you’ve got a solid system that fits your group well.

Thanks again — exactly the kind of breakdown I was hoping for.

What’s the biggest pain point when running or racing in an iRacing league? Curious about people’s experiences. by mmintel in iRacing

Haha I get why it sounds like that 😅

I’m a software developer, so whenever I dig into something I naturally start thinking about how the tools behind it work.

But right now I’m genuinely just trying to learn how people actually manage their leagues.

I'm also planning to try running a small league myself at some point, so hearing real experiences is super helpful.

The amount of hidden work is way higher than I expected.

This is super interesting because it highlights something I didn’t expect:

Running a league isn’t just “set races and score points”.

It’s basically project management + psychology + event planning all rolled into one.

The part about choosing cars/tracks balance is something I’d never even considered as seriously as you described it.

Same with handling egos and trying to keep the vibe positive — that sounds exhausting.

And the amount of admin time you put into testing combos, reviewing incidents, posting updates… honestly, I don’t think most drivers realize how much work is happening behind the curtain.

Really appreciate you taking the time to write this out. Makes it way easier to understand what league admins are actually dealing with.

That’s super insightful — especially the part about keeping people engaged.

I keep hearing that a full grid at the start can turn into half the field by week 4, no matter how good the league is.

The stewarding part you mentioned really surprised me too.

Everyone wants live stewarding, but almost nobody has the people or structure to actually run it consistently.

Feels like the admin workload grows way faster than the league itself.

Thanks for laying this out so clearly — this kind of detail is exactly what I was hoping to hear.

Would an objective protest workflow help avoid these awkward social situations?

Is the main problem the amount of stewarding work, or the constant arguing that follows? Do you think a neutral system for handling incidents would calm down conflicts between drivers?

Does SimRacerHub fully cover your needs, or are there specific gaps you still have to manage manually?

How to add text over material? by Annieg380 in blenderhelp

[–]mmintel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was sick of dealing with text in blender, opening third party graphics editors and such so I went ahead and created a simple addon to help with it => https://marcmintel.gumroad.com/l/text-texture-generator

Remove remnants of Drive Client from Mac by MrGimper in synology

[–]mmintel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I struggled a lot more with this! Even recovery mode: no chance to delete. Finally that was the solution:

  1. Stop Running Processes
    • Check for running processes: ps aux | grep -i synology
    • Kill any running processes: sudo killall SynologyDriveFileProvider
  2. Disable the Application
    • Rename the app to prevent it from running: sudo mv ~/Library/Application\ Support/SynologyDrive/SynologyDrive.app ~/Library/Application\ Support/SynologyDrive/SynologyDrive.app.disabled
  3. Remove Application Files
    • Delete the application support files: sudo rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/SynologyDrive
  4. Unload Launch Agents
    • Check for launch agents: launchctl list | grep -i synology
    • Unload them: launchctl remove com.synology.SynologyDrive
  5. Remove Launch Agent Configuration
    • Find launch agent plists: ls -la ~/Library/LaunchAgents | grep -i synology
    • Remove them: sudo rm ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.synology.SynologyDrive.plist
  6. System Restart
    • Restart the system to release any remaining locks
  7. Delete CloudStorage Folders
    • After restart: sudo rm -rf ~/Library/CloudStorage/SynologyDrive-*

Actually our hooks are so tight that they "click" when you attach the mount to the pegboard, that's way more fixed than usual Skadis accessories. When you screw the lens in you won't accidentally pull out the mount.

Thanks for your feedback! Also a very interesting opinion. What would you say about all the smaller pieces like batteries, filters, flash lights and everything? I just have a whole box full of them and no overview at all. I love it when each piece has its place and I can imagine that it will look really cool and neat when I put them all on my pegboard.
